Last tasted in 2020. It is evolving slightly but has a ways to go. Big wine with lots of darker fruit, pepper and a touch of oak. Likely better with a couple of hours of air.

I didn't take notes but it's hard to forget how expressive the nose was - lots of spice. Drinking great now but not hurry.

Very nice wine and accessible today. For me, it lacks the complexity to merit a higher score.

Wonderful nose of strawberries and raspberries with lots of spice. On the palette it is a bit reserved needed a few more years to show its true potential. In a few years likely to be rated 96.

The nose is exceptional! On the palate a little less forthcoming - maybe 96. I'm not sure it improves much from here but no hurry to drink up.

Very pure and well structured wine. It is accessible today with a good decant. Clearly the best is yet to come as I believe there is upside from here.

The nose is a 98 but on the palate 95. Although very enjoyable now I believe the best is yet to come. I’ll wait another couple of years before opening the next bottle.

I did not keep any notes but it was a young powerful wine that is still too primary to really appreciate its quality. I'll wait a couple of more years before I try again.

I didn't take notes but drank with the 91. This was the best bottle I've had to date and overshadowed the 91.

Very tight - seems to have have the requisite components to develop into a better wine. Lost of 2005s seem to be in the same category. I'lllwait a few years to try the next bottle.

One of my favorite 07s. Very pure and energetic wine. Spice and darker fruits dominate - great structure. Drinks well now but the best is ahead.

Very intense with excellent potential. Strong minerality with light floral notes. I will wait another couple of years to try the next bottle. The first bottle I opened was corked.

Good potential but still still too young for my taste. Beautiful nose but it will be a few more years before the tannins ease up enough to truly appreciate this wine. Big and full bodied. 95 based on potential.

This was a great bottle! I did not keep notes but this was one of the best Monfortino's I've tasted. After opening a bottle of the 85 that was corked, I was relieved to open an excellent one. I have had several bottles of different vintages of Monfortino's that were bad.

Just a great bottle but still would benefit with more time. After a 2 hour decant and 1 hour in the glass it started really show its stuff.

Had along side the 1993 Rousseau Chambertin. This was the better wine tonight as it was in the maturity window. Mostly darker fruit and a bit of damp earth on the nose. I don't see any reason to wait any longer on Leroy whereas the Rouseeau has a long life ahead.

While the nose was spectacular the wine is far from ready. This will likely merit a higher score but this bottle was a bit unyielding. 95+

Still too young for my taste but a strong showing, nonetheless. I will wait another 5 years when I suspect we will start to see more complexity. Very balanced wine showing darker fruits, minerals and earth. The nose is very expressive. Drinkable now with a 2 hr. decant but rather primary. Potential for a higher score.

Wow – what a nose. Violets, minerals and pleasant gaminess on the nose. On the palate still tight and not showing what this wine will become. I will wait another 2 years and give it a 4 hour decant.
