Enjoyed this wine with lamb kebabs; dry; low/med acidity; cherry/black fruit flavors; medium tannins; smooth but full bodied wine; very easy drinking; gets better with a little decanting. Pairs well with food.

We have really enjoyed this wine each time we drink it- it is big and delish! Aromas of red fruit and wood. Dry, medium/high acidity; medium/high intensity; strong tannins. Medium/full body, medium finish. Flavors of cherries, mushroom. Enjoy the full mouth feel, but not overwhelming. Tannins are well balanced to the fruit.

Enjoyed this on Thanksgiving and everyone enjoyed it- it went fast! Aromas of tobacco, black fruits; medium tannins; flavors of blackberry, tobacco/coffee; a great wine and excellent value.

Intense aromas of black fruit, pepper, and earth; dry; high acidity; medium bitterness; flavors of cherries and wood; medium/high tannins; full body. We found this to be a very good wine with a great QPR. Enjoyed the dry, full mouthfeel and the lingering finish. Subtle but full fruits and earthiness. My kind of wine.

I loved this wine! Garnet hue, aromas of black fruit and licorice. Dry, medium acidity, high intensity; low-medium tannins. Flavors of black fruit- dark cherries mostly. A tobacco flavor comes through on the finish. Medium-long finish. This wine starts out smooth and quickly develops into a full, luscious mouth-feel. I prefer dry, smooth but full wines with even tannins. Not a big fan of "fruit forward" wines. This is a favorite with me. p.s. I love all the TO wines, it seems. One of my favorite wineries.

Deep garnet color; medium intensity in smell- smells great; aromas of black fruit and pepper; dry; low to medium acidity; no bitterness; flavors of cherry, blackberry; light tannins; medium body. This is a very smooth, pleasant drinking wine. Enjoyed without food. Solid QPR.
ONE HOUR UPDATE: Came back to my glass after a one hour walk with my daughter- Wow, definitely recommend decanting this. Wine developed a deep, warm, earthy taste. Now has a woody, barnyard aroma. Flavors have melded and deepened, finish is now long. Cherry flavor is very pronounced. Would now describe as medium/full body. Upped the rating two points.

Not sure if this wine was bad, but really did not like it. Wine was cloudy and had a strange metallic taste in the finish. Other two bottles are similarly cloudy.

Agree with the other notes- this wine has a nice balance of acidity and oak. Bright and restrained- definitely recommend it. Will have to pick up more.

A solid but not amazing wine. Upon Opening: Intense, deep aroma; deep ruby in color. Aromas of black fruit, tobacco, barnyard. Dry; high acidity. Taste: Medium/high intensity, with black fruit and pepper. Medium tannins. Light/medium body with a relatively short finish. Will add more after it has decanted for awhile.

I enjoyed this wine. Found it to be crisp and dry- very refreshing and I preferred it chilled. I agree with other reviewers that it is does not have a great deal of depth, but I think it is a lovely wine for the price.

Really enjoyed this wine. Agree with other reviews- floral and melon notes. Crisp and refreshing, and not too sweet. Paired well with a vegetarian couscous/bell pepper/garbanzo bean meal. Thought it was even better the second day- for me, some of the sweetness had diminished, leaving a very refreshing crisp wine with a pleasant melon-like finish.

This is the second bottle of The Zin that we have opened and we haven't really cared for it. Color is a deep ruby/garnet and aroma is spicy. This wine definitely needs decanting. Upon opening, tannins are overwhelming and wine is almost bitter. After an hour of decanting, the wine smooths out a bit and becomes merely spicy, but we only find it to be a mediocre wine, lacking in depth. Note: These wines were shipped during summertime, and one of the two has had some leakage- wines have experienced some heat damage.

Drinkable upon opening. Light to medium bodied wine, warm and smooth, yet with a nice tartness. A pleasant combination of berries and pepper. This is a great summer wine- would be nice with bbq/grilled food. Good served cellar temp- don't think I would like it warmer.
