Excellent. PnP. Pale gold color; no signs of premox. Lemon, white stone fruit, wet stones, minerals on the nose. Hint of sulphur- in a good way- that was more pronounced at first. Lots of good lush fruit, but well balanced acidity with a slight hint of pleasant bitterness. Very grand cru as it’s seamless and full and long with no hard edges and nothing out of balance.

blockbuster - really powerful, intense but beautiful. dark tart cherry, hints of black licorice, long finish. really hitting its stride and probably at its peak.

11/24/14, 4:24 PM - we decanted for two hours! amazing potency - prob at its peak window for next 3 to 5 years.

2006 Bouchard Père et Fils Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru Les Suchots Pinot Noir
hard to rate this - I popped and poured without adequate decant time and at the end of a big night of wine drinking. was quite wound and deserves proper time to open - i think it can age another few years as well

1/11/14, 10:06 AM - Harley 1199 - hope you get this. I was having a hard time figuring out in cellartracker how to respond. to be honest we popped the bouchard vosne romanee 06 after about 6+ bottles of wine among very good friends. it was dark, brooding and very very wound and tart upon opening. it was a clear mistake on my part to open it. it opened and softened a bit, but we opened it around 9/9:30pm on a night where we had been drinking since 5pm and it was a bottle that demanded at least an hour of breathing time to enjoy it - which by the time the hour went by, our guests were gone, and my palate and general mental state were not in any capacity to drink a bottle by myself! I did slowly sip another glass worth, but it just wasnt fair to rate it b/c I just rem how wound and tart and tight the wine was -- that it had the depth, color to be very age worthy - and that it was shame to be drinking it. the next day I just could not drink any of it as I was recovering from the prior night. net net, you can try one bottle now - but give it at least an hour to open - and that would be a better determinant of how age worthy it is. on surface, it seemed at least 5-10 more years. but 06 was not considered a great vintage so i was surprised how masculine this wine was. hope you get this and this is helpful.
