Side by side with 2006 Dom and 2000 Krug. Good but consensus third

Blind test seven bottles, not expert drinkers

This bottle won, impressively. Cool coast style.

Just ahead of 2013 Williams Selyem Rochioli, and comfortably ahead of a very highly rated and more expensive 2012 occidental swk. Maybe SWK needs more time...

Anyway RM Sonoma coast still the best QPR in CA pinot.

A year ago I thought on downside. Today from 375 is fantastic. Bottle variation? I was wrong and it wasn't ready before? Unreliable taster? No idea. But this was great.

Flawed, I think. Was looking forward to this! When I cut the foil, it was gunky under there. Cork showed moisture all the way to top.

Tasted pretty one dimensional, not much of interest though not undrinkable. Alas, at least I have some more of this.

From 375.

From 375 this was really balanced and not too young.

From half bottle. Great fruit and salinity as others state. Fresh.

On the down slope but it's still an enjoyable ride. I like past prime but if you don't y b ou won't love, and definitely drink up

Opened a 2007 ws rochioli riverblock last night and was just peak... Difference in intensity and complexity was pretty big

2008 Domaine Tempier Bandol Mourvèdre Blend, Mourvèdre (view label images)
For being so young, this is drinking great.

Drank alongside a 2008 not SV, and a 2004 miguoa.

Opened bottle 2 hrs ... still closed. Good but not as good as the other 2. Then decanted... better. Very promising but needs more time.

Great with sausage.

Wow mixed bag of reviews. Mine was a dud too. Odd nose and faded tasting. No corked notes I could detect, just off. Poured out.
White - Sparkling
Delicious. Feels peak. After the oxidative notes was cautious but did not stick out for me. I think drink now is right.

I'm with SCOSGROVE. perfectly pleasant but I have high expectations from WS and this did not meet them. very fruity, not a lot of structure or acid to balance it. Not great QPR and nowhere close to the wines I have really liked from them. Bought winebid so can't guarantee the storage to date but not obviously defective, just a bit simple.

No detailed notes but just since no recent notes, still great

Reviews say this is obey the hill but I thought it was absolutely fantastic as did everyone else. Mature but awesome. Also bought this on winebid so can't really even be certain of how it was stored

Fresh as could be and absolutely fantastic. In a perfect place, still has the life and sparkle of a young champagne but with great mature tones. As I read the notes, seems like 70% have this experience and 30% are well past prime, and it seems to coordinate with the later bottling (which has a bottle with decorative logo stuck right on) being fresher and the earlier bottling (which has a traditional wine label) being on the decline, FWIW. Mine was a later bottling and the last of four, and if I could buy more I would in a heartbeat.

Still great

After reading all these effusive notes I decided to drink this rather than wait. Mine was good but rather ordinary, a bit closed. Wish I waited.

Just to note: opened a bottle bought at Auction a while ago and it is fantastic. so they are not all bad!

Light. Refreshing. Not grassy. Good balance of fruit and acid.

From 750, perfect cork, great bottle with pear frangipanne.

From magnum. Lovely, youthful. Tart apple, creamy mousse. With 11 bottles opened -- 1995 Dom, 1990 Y'quem, and six 1968 cabs and Rioja -- this was for most the wine of the night.
Red
Drank alongside 5 other 1968s. For most including me, 2nd behind the excellent Charles Krug. But two of the best palates had this slightly ahead... Impressive showing.

Tasted alongside 5 other 1968s: Heitz cab, Heitz pinot, Concannon cab, Ygay and CVNE. For me a a slight majority this was the winner. Lots of life, evolved and enjoyed for an hour plus in the glass. Unreal for 50 year old Napa!

Lovely old bottle. Alive and drinkable but probably 4th of six 1968s for most at the party. Bottle finished and none dumped that I could see.

Tasted with 5 other 68s. Bought on a lark, expected DOA. It wasn't great but it was interesting and surprisingly OK. Obviously all earth and tertiary, no fruit but almost all the bottle was consumed. Didn't hold up long in the glass. But last of the six for everyone.
Red
Drank well on opening. Great nose. Over 20+ minutes in the glass, turned sweeter and a bit port like. Not to my taste then though very drinkable and some liked. Great for 50 years but vs 5 other 68s it was middle of the pack for most. Better than the 68 CVNE but outshined by Napa -- Charles Krug and Heitz

First cdg.
Opened, poured... Is that it? Not bad but a bit closed, not special. Disappointed

Set some aside... 30 minutes later... Amazing! I suspect I served it too cold, much too cold. Our possibly the air. But I would not serve too cold for sure.

At later taste, long, powerful, lovely.

From 375ml. Good but ever so slightly oxidized, at the end of the drinking window for me, at least in half size. Drink up!

Tasted with 2005 and 2006 Paul bara special club and egly rose. Most people’s #4 yet they liked it. It is very extreme in austerity which is very interesting. It’s not as enjoyable as the best but entertaining for the uniqueness and very drinkable.

Have had a bunch of 2005 kistler pinots and had some amazing bottles in the last two years. However, this was past prime, much of the fruit gone. WineBid purchase so can’t vouch for the storage.

As fantastic as everyone says. Incredible value.

Loved it. Great balance, drinking really well. I wouldn't wait.

Solid but not spectacular. Fruit, but could use a bit more acid. Event showing but not a great vintage I think

What to say about this exceptional wine. The best champagne I have ever had. Sweet but not too much honey. Doesn't have the acid profile of more youthful champagnes but enough to be in balance. Fantastic
