A lovely pale salmon pink despite its constituents, it is an appealing mix of red fruits and herbs on the nose, while the palate is very refreshing with well-balanced acidity keeping it crisp and lively.

(From magnum) Although this wine has plenty of power and ripe fruit, it's controlled power, like a luxury car effortlessly cruising, rather than a drag car screaming and smoking. Similarly, the ripe blackberry fruit is tweaked by the viognier to give it a softness and aromatic lift that keeps it balanced and interesting. Fantastic now, and for decades to come.

(From magnum) Still very fresh. Lovely aromatics and laser-like acidity, enhanced by beautiful minerality, made this a real treat.

Opened for some time, but not decanted, this was very lively and aromatic from the outset, showing ripe fruit, minerality and wild roses. Very well made, great balance and texture. Over time it faded a little, whereas the Barolo (G Voerzio La Serra '98) it was paired with continued to unfold.

Still very youthful - plenty of rich, ripe fruit. Enjoyable.

Plenty of intense fruit underpinning some earthy complexity which came together well in an enjoyably rustic kind of way.

Subtle minerally wine, with nutty, oxidative notes. Would like to spend some more time with this wine - a bit lost in the line-up on the night.

Striking dusty pink in colour, plenty of red fruit, smooth, perhaps a little lacking in character but worth a try for something different. 100% Nerello Mascalese from Sicily.

Some lovely perfumed aromatics on this demi-sec white set the stage for an initially quite sweet wine, which manages to finish closer to dry thanks to some very lively acidity. Not one for those who don't like sweetness in wines, this would make a great aperitif for those of us who do.

Clear, medium ruby appearance. Clean, medium aromatics, with ripe blackcurrant fruit mingling with some tobacco and oak aromas. Medium acidity and alcohol, medium plus tannins and body. The palate is consistent with the nose, with hints of blackcurrant along with developing tobacco and cigar box flavours. A very good wine, offering good value for a Bordeaux red. Could drink now, but will offer some benefit to further bottle age.

Loved this wine when it was young, and really enjoyed it several years down the development road. Very attractive, harmonious wine at its peak right now.

Full bodied red, with plenty of red berry fruit and an attractive earth quality. Very enjoyable.

Terredora have produced a winner here, with a well balanced wine marrying a backbone of acidity, good palate weight with stone fruit and a dry, slightly nutty finish that will probably develop further with age. Excellent for the price.

Medium intensity aromatics, showing some sweet fruit, hints of kirsch and plenty of oak. Clearly developing some secondary characteristics, but not integrated yet. The tannins remain prominent, even as the development of the wine shows here with leather and earth flavours evident on the palate. The wine still shows some fruit sweetness, but the alcohol is well hidden in this full-bodied red. A good wine for the price now, this red will continue to improve over the next two or three years as the tannins soften. If drinking now, decanting for one to two hours is probably a good idea.

Clear, pale lemon. Noticeable small carbon-dioxide bubbles on glass. Pronounced aromatics, dominated by ripe peach, with subtle floral notes. Starts out quite dry, but a slight sweetness on the finish. Medium-high acidity with slightly prominent alcohol leading to a more full-bodied style of dry riesling. Flavours of green apple and peach. Fairly short, slightly astringent finish. A good wine for the price, it offers plenty of enjoyment, while lacking the precision or minerality of the best of its kind. Best for current drinking.

Lovely pure fruit, with a tinge of black pepper. Quite rich texture, well balanced and enjoyable. Great value now, and would expect a few years wouldn't hurt it.

Well balanced Eden Valley Riesling, with a little sweetness balancing out the acidity. Probably a little muted a year on now, it still has some lovely lime and floral characters that suggests it will be OK to drink over the next year before it shuts down further. So either drink soonish or wait for its re-emergence around 2017.
