Consistent with my 1st bottle but with another gear of fruit depth. Drink up, but no huge hurry. Very nice indeed. Perfect with Sichuan.

Consistent with my previous note. One modification, that I think this is bottle is on a slightly faster evolution track than my last bottle. Tasty. Peking Duck night

Vis a vis with an '02 Napa Cab, and this was far better wine. Very very good Pomerol. Especially for the Euro. Don't tell anyone... Only thing I wish was better was less new oak. Personal preference.

Juicy ripe and all Brunello roses and cherries. In a great spot now. Oak is really integrated in this ripe year.

The best bottle of the 3 btl lot I bought. So very complete. If you love aged subtle Nebbiolo with a side of beef broth, this is just right for you.

Superb! Amaro, fresh leather, dried roses, sous bois, blood orange, bitters, even a melange of tutti frutti red fruits. Insanely great mouthfeel and structure. Very complete example of aged Barolo. Enjoyed over 2 hours sip by sip. Towards the end of the bottle, it was like the best tart teriyaki beef jerky you ever tried. Bravissimo!

Quite tasty. Enjoying it still on day 5 (!) Little sips and more to go still. Shy at first, and incredibly taut. Almost hard to distinguish this between this and a botrytized Chenin, but then the Riesling notes POP, and there isn't much in the form of lanolin and candle, so then undeniably Riesling. When ZH screams, it screams, and often it doesn't, but this is excellent. Quite enjoyable and well done.

Still kicking - great stuff. No hurry to drink it. Give it a 30-1hr decant before you pour it. Delish.

Shy on the opening. After opening it came around but ever so slowly. Wondering if this will ever come around complete. I wish it was more integrated yet you can taste the Sangio aromatics, the Merlot black fruit and herbal high notes of Cab Franc - integration would make them better in terms of the sum of all parts rather than the ability to pick it apart. I dunno.

Originally pale thin wonky and not so great. Decanted anyway and it evolved into a tasty aged drink over 3 hours. Not a blockbuster, but oxygen helped this a thousand percent. Went from pale orange color to rich deep black. I wish I could make that up. Neat trick.

Drinking great. At peak? Loads of raspberry, sweet oak, balckberry core, and still grippy tannins. Long length and full bodied. Very nice wine indeed. No rush to drink this up.

We mush have had the best of the best of bottles. This bottle was screaming solid in all of the right places. Pristine bottle. Aromatics spot on. Fruit spot on. No brett noticeable. Sweetness was dried out a touch but anyway. A lovely bottle shared with friends for dessert. Fig & Ricotta cheese tart. Stunning.

Screaming great value. This wine crushed it with chicken & cheese enchiladas w. red chile. Decanted for an hour and a half. The wine needed food. Pair it with bold flavors and you won't be disappointed. I'll be looking for more of this wine. Delicious. For those that like Cab Franc heavy style Bordeaux this is for you.

Drink up. This is typical but not special for Savennieres in my opinion. This should have been better. Oxidized melon, honey, corn and pineapple. Even at year 20, I expected this to have more gas in the tank. Drinkable yes, but not flashy any more.

So I bought 5 btls of this wine, and only one bottle was good. It was on when it was on, but the other 4 btls were refermented, so be on the cautious side. This was a blueberry bomb of a syrah. Very crushable with some meaty Thai food. Caution on the refermentation aspect. Danger.
This bottle was tasty though.

All of the grace and elegance that you would expect from Chassagne 1er Cru Champs Gain. Agreed with the tasters that it lacked the brightness, nevertheless stunning example of terror and vintage. Ripe year all of the way. Beguiling nose. Orchard fruit!

Solid Syrah. I've had this multiple times, and it continues to shine. The wine has mellowed quite a bit in the last several years. Still full of pleasure & plush. My last '05 in the house. On to the 07's next.

Needs air. Very shy until you give it some air. 30 mins to an hr. until it really develops. On the tart red fruit side this bottle was. Developed nicely after the oxygen. Make sure you have some fat to go along with this wine.

The champagne was hitting all of the right notes and all of this wine is all about texture. That's where the hallmark of this wine is texture. I wish I had another bottle to really evaluate it more, but this was shared with eight people and so I didn't really get a great note other than it stood out amongst the other ordinary champagnes in the room.

I think this wine is fully mature. Lovely gold. Amber color and it still was holding acid really nicely. Fruity all the way but all action-packed and ready to rock even at 15 point 6% alcohol. I think it's the alcohol that actually made this wine stay at this long plateau for such a long time.

I think I paid too much for this wine, but I still enjoyed it. More of a fan of his rosato. I think this one is a different representative of Nerello, and it shows unique, so I have to give it that. Definitely has some strength, and some tannic qualities, deep red fruits. Enjoyable, but for $80 bones, probs not $80 worth of wine. Sausage & cheese homemade pizza night.

this bottle was still going strong 21.5 years later. More into the woodsy category of things, but still strong fruit shining through. Nice tannins. Balanced, and trending towards Gevrey in style. Surprised many of the tasters in the room to see it was a Y2K.
