BYOB "High Altitude" (Sollentuna, Sweden): I don't get it, white pepper, light body, not so much tannins, green (geranium), sourish. Felt unbalanced. Maybe not ready for consumption yet.

BYOB - FIFA World Cup, Finewines.se (Sollentuna, Sweden): Retro 70's style, hoy flowers, bee wax, smurf figures (soft plastic), apricot. Quite light mouth feel, minimal acidity.

A good Brunello that need time, lots of time, very harsh at this point, if you can't cope with the high levels of tannins and acidity this is not your wine. If you like me gladly accept the challange this is worth trying.

10/15/17, 9:25 AM - My bad, it should of course be Brunello and not Barolo. I am editing my original post now. Thanks for noticing Wadelllars@gmail.com.

Great lively mousse, full bodied, small hints of yeast, citrus dominates, grape, yellow apples, a bit harsh. Would guess an older NV but this was based on 2011 and disgorged april 2017. Will continue to evolve with some cellar time. A beautiful vine.

    9/7/17, 4:52 AM - Hi Bsmith457.

I do not consider 87 to be a low score. It is within the area of good quality wines that just don't have that extra to be great. In this case my guess is that it might be more interresting with some cellar time once it turns into maturity. It's a good wine today and in my opinion open for business.

I'm going 89 points but I will say this has bottle has plenty of potential to pack on a few pounds. it was served along side the 2006 version and with a special telescope Dr. Vindrinker made, we could tell this juice has potential. It's 21 year old brother was showing that the 2012 will soften up its tannin and let that bing cherry fruit and Dr. Pepper high notes start to shine. Not much here for the funk fans, it's a fruit show, which is fine for me and the Dr.

This puppy needs to not be opened for at least 3 years but if you must then let it breath for a minimum of 2 hours in a decanter, otherwise you will be drinking some strange concoction of hair spray, crushed grape seeds and anger. Also, serve between 63-67 degrees F. It makes as much difference as the breathing.

Very happy with this wine, if you can manage approximately $30 for this it's a good QPR. An excellent substitute if your jones for Beaucastel is bigger than your stack.

3/25/17, 8:50 AM - I cannot really tell, I felt it to be a good but average Barolo. Compared to many other Barolos this was very tight and compact, it might reveal its potential with some cellar time.

Det var mest saffran i doften, inte så mycket mer som stack ut. Kanske en aningens kanel. Något trött syra, ingen riktig ryggrad, påminde mig mycket om en platt Sauternes jag drack för några år sedan. Gott, ok men väldigt intetsägande. Jag är förtjust i syra så i detta fall var det på tok för lite för min smak men om man är mer åt det rena söta hållet kan det säkert vara intressant.

I enter this tasting note not out of enthusiasm but more as a warning should I encounter this wine again and think it might be good. It's barely good, showing modest varietal character and only a pale imitation of the Etna terroir and volcanic energy I look for. There are hints of alcohol on the nose and finish, and it's thick and pudgy in the middle. No way to go through life, son. One of the least pleasant Etna wines I've had. I could go on and say, it's weary, flat, stale, and unprofitable, but that's just piling on-and this is a '14? Fie on you. Hey, Marc de Grazia: non grazie.

A really poor showing. Diluted and alcoholic. Nose is muted with some wood, strawberries, herbs, some mature notes of dried fruit and a little tobacco together with some dry bread.

Medium(-) acidity, sweetish fruit with dry, slightly woody tannins. Medium+ body with a poor intensity and a quite short finish.

Not that by expectations were very high, but it still managed to disappoint. Good price (on sale) if you want a label that says CdP, but 170SEK is rather steep for this, and especially it's normal price at around 220SEK

On-board SAS long-haul AND I HAD TO PAY A PREMIUM PRICE FOR THIS MINIATURE BTL!?!

Nose is towards Sb with nettles, green plants and pee, but not cat's pee. This is a rather stale elderly gentleman's variety.

In the mouth, this tastes like an Sb that has been sweetened with grape juice and then peed in. Acids are perfect for what this wine is and quite attractive. Slightly hollow with a less than attractive component shining through throughout the finish: stale pee :-(
Thanks to the acids, this is drinkable.
On the ground we can get a really great wine for the same cl price... SAS should be ashamed of themselves for serving this mega-plonk and charging an unsustainable price premium for it.
Shame! Shame! Shame!

5/28/14, 7:44 AM - I got curious reading your comment about the wine so I browsed the net for more info. Not that I am eager to buy me some bottles, just wanted to know more. And it turns out that the producer do not even list this wine on their site. The closest one they have is a Gros Manseng/Sauvignon cuveè. Could this be some "left overs" sold to SAS and others?
