Fantastic wine. Love the faint chalky tannin and awesome fruit. So glad I was able to procure one of these. Paid $75. Awesome QPR

1/4/20, 7:02 PM - This was one of my favorite wines from Outpost. I bought it from the winery soon after getting on their mailing list and opened in just 1-2 years later. I still remember how chewy it was and have not found anything else like it since. I bought a few bottles on the secondary market over the following year but they didn't have the same tannin structure as the bottles I got from the winery. Oh well. Still have 1 bottle of the 2009 True Vineyard waiting for a special occasion. Thanks for bringing back the memories!

Slo ox'd for 8-10 hours. Didn't show much before the 8 hour mark but then started to unfold. Iron and Graphite dominates. Not your typical Napa Cab character. With more air dark cherry starts to poke through. Picks up a nice weight and mouthfeel with some drying tannins pushing into the long finish. Still quite young. Primarily used mostly if not all To Kalon fruit source for this vintage if I remember correctly. Should have many years ahead of it but very nice now with a healthy dose of air.

12/31/16, 4:31 AM - Vintage 1949 if you have another bottle which may be more ready in 4 years I think I would use another bottle especially if you're holding a double magnum. If not I say go ahead an open it in 4 years and just give it a lot of air. It will still be a wonderful experience.

Decanted for 2+ hours. Blackberries and licorice on the nose. On the palate: blueberries, cardamon, vanilla, toasty oak, solid layer of acid. Soft tannins and moderate finish rounds out this solid wine. Has definitely opened up over the past year. Would love to try again in a couple of years but its gonna be tough to wait.

7/1/14, 7:10 PM - Made the correction, thanks. I must have finished the bottle a bit too fast! Looking forward to the 2012's soon.
