23 years old and still great. Purchased direct on site in Tuscany on release and stored properly since then. The wine drank great. Still good structure, the fresh fruit is withdrawn but the wine has a nice dried prune flavor with some earthiness wrapped n silky elegance. Paired beautifully with fresh egg tagliatelle in a fresh porcini and cream sauce with grated parmigiano reggiano.

Deep garnet color
Medium body, medium alcohol. Very well integrated tannins. Silky smooth mouthfeel.
Cedar box, licorice, back and red fruit, dried juniper berry on the back palate.

Beautiful wine. Still needs 5-10 more years. Decanted for two hours and just beginning to show it’s stuff. Bright acidity. Nice tannins that give this wine structure, but well integrated. Medium body. Still very dark color. Lavender, raspberry, red currant notes.

Elegant fruit and still nice structure. Softness from the merlot and structure from the cab franc. Really pleasantly surprised by how this has aged.

Strange funky flavors. Like old moldy cheese. Mildew. Citronella candle. The nose is cleaner but on the palate it’s a strange wine.
I love Reynvaan wines but this white just tastes off. Tried two different bottles. Same thing. Both stored perfectly since purchase direct from the vineyard so not a storage issues.

The Cos is really elegant. Soft supple tannins. Earthy mushrooms. Some barnyard funk but very little. Just a hint on the nose. Tobacco. Medium light body. Nice acidity. Peak was probably 1-3 years ago though.

Bright acidity. Full body and ripe fruit that can last many many more years. A beautiful bright wine nos but I suspect it will last a decade or two more given the acidity and what I’ve done to learn of the Spanish wines. Will have to drink the other 3 I have on a spread out 2-4 year basis each to see how it evolves.

Unripe fruit. Green peppers. Atypical for a Napa cab. I’ve had much better from 2010 vintage so we can’t blame that. Maybe they picked early? Just doesn’t show the kind of elegance and fruit I’d expect from the location and vintage.

This wine is ok. Not bad but nothing interesting. Boring nose. Flat fruit flavors. Tannins are soft. Overall an ok wine but really nothing interesting about it. I wouldnt pay more than $30 for this but they charge a lot more retail. Not worth the price

The first sip made me say “wow”‘out loud. Beautifully balanced wine, elegant and supple. Rich and ripe and drinking very well now but perhaps even better in 2-3 years.

Gorgeous fruit. Very Napa. Definitely new world, but not artificially jammy and not cola from hyper extracted type techniques. Pure Napa fruit and elegance. Delicious now. Not sure it will get better but not past it’s prime. This may well be it’s prime drinking window.

Drinks beautifully right away but opens up and evolved more after about 3 hours of opening the bottle (I did not decant). Rich black and red fruit flavors with some undertones of coffee and cedar wood. A really beautiful wine.

Basically vinegar. This was stored in my temperature controlled cellar since I purchased it directly from the winery upon release. I’m not sure if it got cooked during the delivery process but this bottle was undrinkable vinegar.

Beautiful wine. Absolute perfection right now. Classic Napa cab showing everything it has to offer right now. I don’t think this will improve with age but I don’t think it could have ever shown better any younger. This is the time to drink this gorgeous, fresh red and black fruit showing wine. Stunningly perfect pairing with grilled grass fed bone-in sirloins, wild rice, and grilled Swiss chard with olive oil and oregano dressing.

Honeysuckle nose. Very fragrant bouquet but lighter on the palate. Stone fruit. Good acidity, sufficient to pare very nicely with spaghetti with sautéed shrimp, garlic, olive oil, red pepper and lemon zest. Smooth, vanillin texture. A viognier like quality to this wine in its 9th year which most reviews would have you believe is past its prime but in reality just means the wine’s characteristics have pleasantly mellowed.

After having a 2014 Schrader Beckstoffer To-Kalom last week which I assumed would be undrinkably young but which was delicious (and yes young) I thought I’d try the 2011 Tor. Definitely a young wine, but ripe, rich, fruit forward, smooth, vanilla textures from the oak and while definitely young actually spectatcular right now. With a grilled porterhouse, butter sautéed mushrooms and grilled vidalia onions for some sweetness to go with the fat, salt and earthy flavors.

Drinking better now than a couple of years ago. I think it’s at its peak right now. Still very nice fruit but also has developed a bit of that Bordeaux like damp cellar quality in a very elegant way. Probably won’t improve from here though.

Great paring with the richness and sweetness of a pecan pie. A rich unctuous dessert wine with thick, heady body and massive sweetness that can stand up to a super sweet dessert. Cloying and smooth as this PX is intended to be.

Still drinking well. Clearly not going to age better from here but had withstood the tests of time incredibly well. Bright acidity with dry cherries and strawberry notes. A classic old school rioja. This wine was stored poorly and moved from Europe to the US to South America and back to the US. Was stored in my parents’ dining room closets at room temp for over 30 years and still tasted great. What an amazing wine!

Still a bit young and needs decanting and time to open. Quite closed when first sipped, at first it only revealed a tight but somewhat indistinguishable core of various red fruits with a soft overlay of saddle leather and damp cellar.
However, over the course of the evening it slowly began to reveal more and more as the layers of fruit peeled back like rose petals unfurling. As each one could be tasted, more emerged beneath, with the more dominant ones like cassis, ink, and blackberry slowly giving way to violets and crushed rose petals.

Past it's prime. No longer showing structure or fruit. This was a better wine a couple of years ago. Still nice with soft tannins and fruit going more to the stewed prune side of things than the bright fresh fruit it once showed.

Beautiful, soft wine. Well integrated and tasting exactly as a 22 year old St Emilion should. Not a fruit bomb at all, this is a pure old school Bordeaux. Tasted alongside 8 vintages of Dominis from the 80s and 90s. This matched nicely with the 85.

Lush and full of fruit. A lot of tannins still showing so the wine needed some time to open up surprisingly. Espresso noted underpin the still bright acidity. Had half a bottle the first night, vacu-vin'd and drank the rest 24 hours later. Showed almost exactly the same but more of the acidity and espresso showed on the second night versus more fruit on the first.

Jammy red berries, luscious fruit. Hint of rosemary and menthol on the nose with a very subtle espresso note. Not a ton of structure left but showing very nicely right now. This may be the peak as the fruit will likely start to fade soon given the lack of backbone.

Opened this bottle yesterday and it was a little closed on opening. Showed nice dark fruits but there seemed something missing. Half the bottle was consumed yesterday. Vaca-vin'd the remainder and drank the rest tonight. Much better. Dark chocolate, espresso notes showing. Almost some dustiness to it. But the acidity was still very present too. Still dark fruits notes but the wine seemed more integrated and balanced than yesterday. I've had some very old Spanish wines and they've generally aged really well. Based on the prior notes below I thought this wine somehow might have been past its prime but maybe it was just in a "dumb" phase of maturing and is now showing better. This has been stored in my cellar at 54-56 F since I purchased it around 2006/7.

Red fruit, well integrated tannins, espresso grounds. Showing a nice dustiness that makes this wine pair well with a grainy cheese like Parmesan as well as a 75-80% dark chocolate.

Was a great match for grilled filet mignon wrapped in bacon. Drinking really beautifully right now. I wouldn't hold onto it much longer but it has evolved from its more youthful new world flavors into a mature wine that shows old world characteristics. Elegant soft tannins, some damp cellar aromas, and still showing red fruit elements.

After 19 years still drinking quite nicely. Really surprising frankly but it still had life in it. Lots of oak and butter notes but enough acidity to keep it fresh rather than overly heavy.

Experimented with this young wine in a tasting to see what wines paired well with southern BBQ (ribs, pulled pork, pulled chicken with spicy, sweet sauces - apple BBQ sauce, molasses BBQ sauce and Tennessee red vinegar sauce). Wine went great with the food but really was super tightly wound and barely showing its fruit and full potential. I'd wait at least a decade before drinking the next one of these.

Silky smooth, well-integrated tannins give structure to super ripe red fruits. Raspberries and cocoa powder begin to show after the wine has been open for at least an hour. The alcohol still feels a little hot. Hoping it smoothes out over time. This wine still has a long way to go to open up fully but has the structure and acidity to do so.

Rich and luscious wine with tons of ripe fruit. The petit Verdot really shows in this wine in the ripeness of the fruit. Smoky nose with some cedar and menthol notes. Tannins are well integrated but still very present. This wine still has a long life ahead of it.
