Agree with the comment about being a little thin. Believe it has reached its maximum age. But fortunately it still has nice dark berries, tough of herb. Moderate finish.

This vintage should probably be consumed within the next year. Lost some of it's umph. But still very tasty. Blue fruit, red plum, notes of black cherry. What's missing is the earthy notes. Had with a Caribbean/Jerk marinaded smoked sirloin. With the fruits in the marinade it paired nicely but was not the star of the dinner.

Not as good as past vintages. 2016 a little light with fruit and the typical spice notes it's known for. Will buy another but different vintage.

Notes of black raspberry, spice, and light earthy nose. Palates shows the raspberry again with hints of plum (after sitting open, red cherry appears), hint of nuttiness, touch of herb and oak spice, just enough earthiness to make it interesting. Still drinking well but can see this dropping off dramatically. Drink now.

This still a solid wine. But others in the Artist series in my opinion are better. Hints of baked cherry & cranberry, forest leaves, little cinnamon and vanilla. But for me, just not rich enough. Finish was a little shorter than anticipated. A very good wine but just short of being outstanding.

I'm not sure what everyone else is tasting. But this is not the butter bomb of old. Yes, it's still creamy and buttery but the citrus and tropical notes are more pronounced that in past vintages. To me it would satisfy both the old style chard lovers and the "new age" chard followers.

Actually better second day. Typical Rheinhessen mod-dry day 1. Day 2 the stone fruits, slate gravel, citrus flavors blossomed. Not a dry as the label indicates but a very good mod-dry.

Deep rich dark dried berries. Notes of coffee, dark cacao chocolate dust, fairly balanced but with the cocoa and coffee mid palate through finish. Tannins for me are nicely integrated. Great with the NY strips I grilled.

Guess I like this wine more than others. It needed to breath for about 45 minutes. The dark fruits and stone characteristics opened up along with the hint of anise, baking spice, and roasted herbs all layered to a velvety clean finish was clean with refined tannins.
