10 hour decant for my wife's 40th bday dinner. This was a special occasion which called for a special wine, and the '16 MAC did not disappoint. My second time enjoying this vintage and it was every bit as remarkable as I remembered from our first encounter

PNP from 375ml as aperitif for my wife's 40th. Initial acidity softened after about 30 min in the glass. After that, it disappeared very quickly. Always a delight

Drank at Bouchon SB. Incredible expression of CA Chardonnay. Slight hint of butter in perfect balance with melon and pineapple notes.

Slow ox for ~8 hours. Incredible nose of leather and sandalwood. On the palette, this just explodes in your mouth, leaving it coated in deliciousness for a good few seconds. Outstanding showing

Drank over 2 nights - first night P&P and far more approachable than I was expecting. Capped overnight and reopened next night. Expected it to improve but actually pretty consistent with the first night. One of the better Andremily vintages I've had and I assume they are perfecting this wine with each vintage. This is a winner that you can drink now or lie down for several years.

Slow-oxd for a good 6+ hours, this could have benefitted from a decant as well or another 4-6 hours of air time. Typical SQN grenache profile; a hint of sweetness. Fantastic wine, but so many others that bested it this night (no fault of the SQN)

WOTN contender. Nose exploded out of the glass. 10 years seems to be the ideal window for the Screaming Eagle 2nd label. Merlot profile was dominant; great pairing for all the foods served

Double decanted and allowed to breathe for 12+ hours, this was still tight even at the end of the night. Could see this rival the 2013s and likely a 100pt wine once released in the fall. Tremendous

Delicious aged SWC, but quite possibly on the back end of its life. Bubbles were weak but flavor profile was ever present. Yeasty

2 hour decant. I didn't have high expectations given the vintage, but this wine blew me away. Will it age for 20 years? I doubt it, but it is drinking fantastically right now. Well done Schrader!

Decanted for 2.5 hours before drinking. Initially very astringent and sour with no secondary notes. Let it breathe for a bit longer. After about 4.5 hours in the decanter, the sourness began to burn off and was replaced with sweet licorice and blackberry. Good, not great. Glad I got it on sale.
