What an impressive color for its age. Still dark cherry with just a thin brickish rim. The nose is also not revealing the age of this wine with ripe fruit, touch of oak. Interesting mix of ripe dark fruits and at the same time some tertiary notes of a mature Bordeaux. Soft and lacking a little structure yet drinking really well and based on this bottle can certainly go another few years without falling apart.

It seems to have undergone some kind of carbonic maceration. Super fragrant with blackberry, truffle, and clay-like aromas wafting from the glass, the wine is ripe but very delicate and velvety in texture, highly finessed with lively flavors. Basically no tannins. Super glou-glou! I'm eager to try the minimally-sulfured version when it arrives later this month.

Day 2: the overt fruitiness and the lifted carbonic notes have subsided and the wine is more smoky, with a faint ashiness, though still very smooth and silky.

    12/16/12, 4:27 PM - Sulfur is naturally produced during fermentation so all wines contain sulfites, hence the mention Contains Sulfites (can't remember what's the limit). All the Cuvees Sans Soufre actually mean that sulfur was not added during the vinification process.

    3/22/10, 2:21 PM - Drunk over 2 days, not decanted as it did not need any decanting.
    Never been impressed with Farina and this was another example.
    Just don't like the style. None (among 7 people) but one person liked it.
