I am really partial to a nice Carneros pinot that is not overdone in high alcohol. Opens with dusty spicy dark cherries. Settled into mild candied dark fruits.

Medium light body, mild aromatics. Not complex as expected but very pleasant fruit and tannins makes for a very drinkable bargain. A decent QPR for an unassuming weeknight.

Great QPR. $15. Smells like a sauvignon blanc but mellows out on the palate with the semillon. Mild grapefruit with a smooth round edge. Not sure about the muscadelle contribution.

Good better than average wine by the glass. Fruity for the masses. Decent large group party red. Probably will not excite the more discerning vinophile. But when you are celebrating with friends it should work great.

This wine definitely needs to open up. Gets better with time. Starts off a bit tannic and mildly peppered. Loses its leathery touch and dark fruits and a bit of sweetness develops. Got this as a gift. Had other Evenstads before. Good pinot but there are others at better price points. Just have to find them.
