Pop and pour with dinner, first of 6 bottles. 100% cab from Jersey Boys and Spencer Vineyard. At $70, this is a nice buy, especially in the rising price environment of Napa/Sonoma. It definitely needs more time, and I plan to finish this bottle in a few days after it’s had more air. I splash decanted, and is a bit closed but the purple fruit is still coming out. Tannins still present. My score reflects right now. Could see a few point increase over 3-5 years.

Splash decant. Deep dark electric magenta color. Butter pecan ice cream, black cherry, dark plum, and graham cracker. Dry, creamy palate. Firm and very full tannins on the longish finish.

This is my second bottle of this bottling and it’s terrifically accessible. Very sultry, a bit moody, and very intense. Hard to fully articulate, but youth may be a contributing factor. Not sure where this goes in a few years, but my bottles won’t last beyond 2026.
