In a very good place still, but I'm not going to wait long on my last bottle!

Very, very tart at the outset, but mellowed with air. However, this is very much on the leaner side of Burgundy - the old school Burgundian nose was a plus. I hope this will integrate in the future.

flawed
Based on how good this is purported to be, I have to assume it was flawed. Astringent and borderline undrinkable. Disappointing. First one of these was disappointing as well, but not as much.

Excellent, but I would not wait too much longer on this one.

Found this in the back of the cellar and thought it would be over the hill...but much to my surprise it was big, aromatic,, and quite excellent overall.

Light with a good nose and a very pleasant old-world Pinot Noir funk. The extremely bitter finish, however, made an otherwise promising wine unpleasant to drink. Hoping the rest of my bottles do not share the latter trait.

Very good but on the back side of the curve IMHO. A lot to enjoy here, but the tannins have gone - so the structure to me was more akin to a good Cali merlot, and that made for a very fine drink.

Fruit is muted but this has never been a fruit bomb. Found its stride after 45-60 minutes with a great, long finish. Holding up well.

Forgot this one in the cellar - too old unfortunately! Hints of its former glory upon opening but the good faded to be taken over by the oxidized astringency. Sad.

A bit astringent upon opening but opened up to be a decent wine - albeit shadow of its former self IMHO. Not bad, but this bottle showed its age - too raisiny. Wish I had opened it a few years ago.

Lost this one in the cellar, but surprisingly very good. Initial strong nose of ripe olives (not pleasant), but that blew off in the first ten minutes to reveal a wine reminiscent of the northern Rhone that improved markedly over the next two hours.

Took a while to open up, but really delivered after about an hour. Beautiful old world, terroir driven wine.

Still very good, not showing the signs of age that I was expecting. It needed a little time in the glass to hit its stride, and was very enjoyably balanced when it did.

Closed at first but opened up after about 45 minutes in the glass to be an outstanding wine.

Have really enjoyed this wine over the years, but this one was flawed and smelled strongly of ripe olives - not good. Hope the rest are still good.

Nice rss and blue fruit on the nose, great mouthfeel, and a great finish. Not over oaked, but benefits from a little breathing.
