Love La Frenz Alexandria and Riesling, but this is not the sum of its parts. It's tasty, but more candied and waxy, without the expected vibrant fruit and mineral qualities.

Powerful nose of floral notes and perfume. Tastes like raspberry, blackberry, cranberry, black licorice, and black olive. Very silky and long finish that fades into a bit of a cherry and bubblegum flavor. Good work!

Delicious. Surprisingly floral nose, with the expected dose of pepper and red fruit. Primarily sweet cherry and black licorice, with a layer of blackberry, black pepper, sage, cola, and fresh soil. Terrific balance and so much fruit.

Solid mix of spice, fruit, bitters and green tea flavours. Lots of apricot, some peach. Not as oily or fragrant as expected for a viognier blend.

Agree with below: cherry, raspberry, soy sauce, along with a touch of dust, mushroom, candied raspberry, and lavender.

Seems like a return to form. Enjoyable and clean weeknight wine with lots of chewy fruit. Good on first night, even better on second.

Brilliant as always: lots of strawberry, melon and cream. This year's vintage seems even better, without any sort of candied notes on the finish, just lovely lingering fruit.

Party up front with a vibrant nose, but more subdued on the dryer palate. Strawberry, a bit of cherry, tomato, leather, pepper, herb and earth. Good balance, and great with food.

Have tried a few vintages of this lately, and this 2015 is by far the best. Lots of sweet cherry, strawberry, raspberry, red and black licorice, earth, brush, and cinnamon. Very bright, fresh and balanced.

Nose of cherry, black pepper, earth, smoke and herbs. It smells like it's going to be tannic, but it's not: this has incredible balance right now. Lots of lush cherry, raspberry and blueberry, backed with a hefty dose of iron and leather, and a whiff of cedar and cinnamon. When you open your mouth to take a sip, it's like a glorious perfume greets your tongue.

Impressive out of the gate. Lots of blackberry, cherry, black pepper, smoke and barbecue. Still slightly tannic, a tiny bit tart, and even some noticeable alcohol, but a lot of good stuff going on here. Felt more immediately approachable than the 2011. This bottle had the most sediment I've ever seen.

Nose of blackberry, cherry, brush and forest floor. It initially tasted quite rustic: a jumble of blackberry, prune, leather, and black licorice. Given a day, it began to shine: a juicy mix of sweet cherry, plum, red licorice, cinnamon and black pepper. Unfortunately, a faint hint of prune left me thinking it's almost past peak. Recommendation: open up and let it sit for a day.

Nose of blackberry, black licorice and black pepper. The palate is more of the same: big blackberry, licorice and pepper, along with cherry, tar, tobacco, earth, and a faint hint of leather, blueberry and pine. Great balance of tart, savory and sweet, and not too much in way of tannins.

Lots of blackberry, plum and spice on both the nose and the palate. It also tastes of black olive, espresso, and earth. This bottle seems more lively and fresh than the one opened this past summer, and has less of the prune-like quality. Decent balance and not noticeably tart or hot, but also not that complex.

Juicy Merlot blend. The Cab Franc makes it interesting, and it has some heft from Malbec. Lots of fruit, nothing sour or tart.

Aromas of floral notes, raspberries, spice, cedar, and tar. Initially quite tart, it soon became more elegant. Tastes like raspberry, blackberry, lavender, pepper, and oak. Not a bold wine. In fact, almost watery. It became much more balanced on day two, and a faint savoury quality appeared. I last had the 2014 and it was a bigger wine, but this one has some elegance.

Hmm. A lot of people seem to have already popped this one and they were probably right. Lovely nose of perfume and raspberry. Still plenty of good raspberry, cranberry and red licorice on the palate, but also some prunes and an occasional unpleasant sour quality. Aspirations of elegance are apparent.

The nose is open: lots of red fruit, perfume, black licorice. Its taste is more tannic and closed, although there are hints of great fruit hidden under charcoal and black licorice. It could well be terrific in a couple of years. Not bad at all for the price, especially if held.

Great balance: lots of pear, peach, lime and honey, but not too sweet. The faintest whiff of petrol and a touch of warm spice gave it a Rieslingish quality.

Nose of blackberries, prune, and spice, reminiscent of mulled wine. The first whiff raises concern that it's past its peak. However, its palate and balance are still working. Tastes like blackberries, plum, black licorice, quinine, and earth. Long finish of tasty black fruit.

Surprisingly light in color. Nose is quite floral, along with with strawberry, cherry and spice. Tastes like strawberry, cherry, spice and earth, maybe even a bit of mushroom. Bright and light, with good balance. Aiming to be like a right bank Southern Rhone, but if someone told me it was really a Washington Pinot Noir, I'd almost believe them.
