Strange nose - unripe blueberries? Medium bodied and whilst earthy and distinctively Bordeaux, underwhelming overall.

Second bottle and I still think this offers great value. Vanilla prominent this time. Not a keeper - pop, poor and enjoy.

Decent quaffer this. Plum and red cherries dominate. Soft, velvety and medium bodied. Lacks firmer, earthy and tannins, but not bad...

Excellent, easy drinking wine this. Vanilla and chocolate dominate. Medium bodied and very approachable.

Disappointed with this. There was a distinct hollowness to the wine with it quite alcoholic at the beginning. Didn't get the comparison with Pinot. Overall, disappointing.

Surprised by the high ratings by others. In a tasting, the group found this to be bland and uninteresting. Bottle variation?

As with previous notes, vanilla and chocolate dominate. Similar to Coleraine. Delicious and I wouldn't hold for any longer.

Agree with comments below - hits all the right spots without being sensational or particularly interesting. Needs a good 2 hour + decant. Good value.

Pop and poured and this time it was beautiful right off the bat. Violets, blackberries with long firm tannins. Delicious!!! In a great drinking window.

Beautiful nose, toffee and liquorice. Strangely became more muted overtime ie it hit its peak with the first glass. Enjoyable but not worth the reinvestment IMO.

Second tasting and I like this quite a bit more than last time. The earthiness that was missing previously is very much there now, with significant, grippy tannins. Its still very luscious, plums and dark fruits dominate. Very nice.

Loved the 2012s and was overall disappointed (strangely) with the 2010s so was interested to see how the 2015 stacked up. Found this to be light bodied in style and whilst not unpleasant (red fruits dominate) there was a distinct lack of tannic grip or earth feel to this which made me wonder at times if I was drinking an Italian Chianti instead. Overall, I suspect the 2012s whilst superb are not the norm for this producer.

Was the group favourite with lovely plummy, luscious berries dominating. Surprisingly big with a fair bit of tannic grip. Not feminine at all. Looking forward to sampling my other 2 bottles.

Thought this was lovely, very refined, beautifully integrated and nicely balanced. In a great drinking window right now. Pencil shavings and soft tannins give way to a long silky finish. Drink up.

So these 2010's do hold up then. There was some mold on the top of the cork and it did give it a musky smell. In a great drinking window though, smooth, balanced and well integrated. Some fruit still there with medium tannins. Day 2, raisins dominate. Good but not great. somewhat one dimensional.

Day one and this is much bigger than I remember from the tasting. Nose somewhat closed followed by big, juicy tannins. Day 2 and this is still big, plummy and tight. This needs 3 -5 years to integrate fully. Still think there is a special wine lurking underneath.

Day one: Its Coonawarra qualities shine through with eucalyptus prevalent on the noise. A tad 'stewed' but balanced out with some nicely integrated tannins. I'm no longer a fan of Australian reds but this was interesting and enjoyable (though no longer my preferred style).

This was beautiful and as my last bottle, was in a great drinking window. White pepper was noticeable this time, with chocolate and raspberries on the palate. Lovely.

Burnt alcohol and stewed fruits. Raspberries are there in the background but there is a heaviness, dark brooding finish that dominates. I loved this young but unfortunately time has not served it well.

Consistent with last notes, enjoyed this more than a few bottles ago. Interestingly, left a quarter of it and had 2 days after first opening and it became (strangely) more fruit driven and chocolate dominant. Perhaps have over 2 days next time.

Day one and whilst not the thin, bland number I had experienced first time, it was quite muted and uninspiring. Day 2 and once again it had evolved into something quite different. Vanilla and strawberries dominate with decent, chewy tannins. Wouldn't hold for much longer though. Day three and the typical Margaux palate comes through strongly. Slight preference for day 2 however.

More modern in style with chocolate dominating initially. This is more reminiscent of a Napa Cab Sav to me with blueberries coming through and soft tannins, though a very nicely integrated, balanced wine. Would be keen to buy more and see how it holds up over a couple of days.

Big improvement on my last bottle which was devoid of any fruit or life left in it. Raspberries and white pepper came though this time to make it much more enjoyable. Still prefer this in its youth however. Day 2 and it evolved into something even better. The bitterness, vegetal elements diminished leaving a nicely balanced, velvety wine. Maybe these can be cellared for sometime?

Better than my last bottle but this is still a drink young wine that unfortunately did not reward cellaring. There was more fruit than previous bottle but not a lot, mostly dark, thick tannins. Strangely more fruit came through right near the end at day 2. Perhaps open and try more on day 3?

This was gorgeous. Day one and it was dominated by blueberries and chocolate - with a typical NZ sweetness to it. Tannins hidden in the background. Day 2 and it really opened up and punched above its wait - reminiscent on Chateau Leoville Poyferre with chewy, meaty tannins coming through. Much preferred on day 2. Lovely.

This is beautiful. Vanilla dominates with raspberries and chocolate. Lovely balance, velvety and smooth. In a great drinking window and I don't see this improving much with age. Day 2 and still enjoyable (slight preference for it on day 1 again). Espresso notes came through a bit more. Lovely and time to drink up.

Day one; big, brooding, luscious and somewhat vegetal (are all the 15 big beasts?). Will be interesting to try this more on day two as Im anticipating it to settle down and integrate. Day 2 and its still has broad shoulders. Vegetal still and somewhat austere. Espresso comes through. This needs time - 5 years + IMO.

Day one and this is a beast. A knife and fork is first required for this, vegetal, heavy and dense. Day two, and whilst still big, its mellowed and more balanced. Leather and espresso dominate. This is definitely more old school than new world, with grippy, biting tannins. Day 3 and it hits its peak, much more integrated and balanced. Either needs a good decant or time in the cellar
