Nose of berries, flowers, herbs, violets, bit of candy. Very reticent, only comes through after a couple of hours, I initially thought it might be corked. The palate is all about juicy, mouthwatering acidity, some firm but yielding tannin and the finish. Deep, dark garnet in color; almost opaque with little signs of aging. Full, forward & attractive nose of complex, ripe fruit aromas of blackberries, dark cherries & cassis with overtones of earthy/dusty, dark cocoa, cedar & tobacco notes, dried herbs, minerals, spices & some oak & vanilla in the background. Full bodied with a very good concentration of well balanced & smooth textured, still lush, ripe fruit flavors of blackberries, dark cherries & cassis with dark cocoa, herbs, minerals, earthy, spices, oak & vanilla in the background. Long lingering finish. Drinks quite well at present with decanting & airing but still has the potential for continued development with additional aging, even at 16 years of age. A wonderful aged Napa Cabernet full of lush ripe dark fruits combined with depth & structure.

I liked this the first time I had it, hence buying four bottles. This was so sickly sweet though I had a half glass and dumped the rest. I didn't even want to keep it for cooking. I should have kept it until tomorrow to see what happens with it so I did act a little rash.
