One of the very best domestic “Southern Rhone” red blends I’ve ever tasted (sorry, not sorry CA blends). A barnyard funk aroma with licorice and sage compliments. Opens with slight orange peel and lavender flavors that finishes with a hint of clove, leather and gingersnap. Truly delicious and completely unexpected from a Texas winery.

I’m amazed by two things about this wine. First, that it adds to the mystery of how Cabernet Franc can be cultivated at a high level of quality from as many disparate places as Temecula Valley California, Finger Lakes New York, and Loire Valley France. Secondly, the way the Hart Family produced this wine demonstrates an eye for how to produce CF by staying true to the varietal while being so food friendly. Well done.
