For a Sauvignon blanc I found this a bit soft (maybe lacking acidity I am used to) and although the oak was slight I still wasn't a fan of oak in my Sav Blanc. Largely given the price range of this wine in BC, Canada at least I would choose a different wine. There was nothing particularly bad about this wine, (but nothing particularly interesting either) it is just I have found very similar and better wines for about 10$ less, (putting them in the 15$-19$ CAD range) when I am looking for a classic New Zealand Sav. Blanc., so maybe I went in expecting a bit more than could be delivered. Classic Sav. Blanc on the nose, grapefruit , a bit of floral aspect (reminded me of daisy's) ; on the pallette found a bit of oak grapefruit/Citus and with a bit more earthy tones than I might expect. Lacked a bit of acidity thought I found it approved after it chilled a bit more. I could see this going well with a cream pasta sauce, or prawns/ white flesh fish- however didn't pair well with our salmon or chicken dinners.

5/26/16, 6:25 PM - Thankyou I may give this wine another chance down the road if this bottle was indeed flawed -as it has received a lot of rave reviews and tops many lists, however the party of three I was with did find it lacked the acidity still to other Sauvignon Blancs we have tried both days. I also read the wine has "a small portion of the wine having been oak fermented" from the producer when I was questioning my taste buds . But Thankyou for the feedback :)
And maybe I'll give it another try in the future and report back if indeed our bottle was flawed . Screw top, so not corked but sometimes wines aren't always stored properly on occasion I transport so you never know
