Tastes like a 1999 Auslese. Super-rich.

Drink it young if you don’t have a tolerance for cloudy wine. Nose fairly advanced, acidity not.

You can’t be serious. This wine has plenty to give. And it wasn’t fazed in the least by the artichoke I threw at it.

Holy shit. Wife thought it was puligny, good guess. 4 hours later, stern as could be. Just, wow.

Insanely good to be based on 2011. Wow.

Still quite dark, and with copious 98 acid and fruit. And yet... drink now, with some air.

And check your corks -- they are small, and mine had a stained crimp the whole length which may have compromised a bit.

I’d say it’s drink now time. Various acids firm still, but all the explosiveness of young BRs is pretty much gone.

Wow. Still some oak notes in the nose, but a perfectly developed wine. The wife guessed Meursault.

Good lord. I haven't scribed a TN in three years. But this has crazy (sense of?) dosage. Honestly feels like an Extra Dry, even a Demi-Sec. Lively, good bead and acid, but WOW it's sweet. Never had a sweet Cote des Blancs before...

This wine is drinking ridiculously sweetly today. If it had been born this sweet I would have had a difficult time selling it. It has some schwetty balls. The garrigue hangs out behind these two elements.

Sweet(er than even the vintage presumption would lead you to.) Like sweet sweet, not just a sense of sweetness. Exacerbated by the lack of acid.

The oak, however, seems fairly modest. Thank you, Fred, for not making wine like this anymore.

Best 02 with any sugar I've had in ten years. Totally had given up on this vintage until I popped a Closel Papillon for Tgiving, and now this. Still has biting acid. Can go another ten years, and I need to reassess the vintage.

Another god awful 2002. Probably was oxidative in 2005. Couldn't even drink a half glass.

Bizarrely resolved and thin, but still a gorgeous, vinous, tertiary wine. A bit of a donut with a head-scratchingly long finish. I kept thinking about this wine, long after the bottle was gone, trying to suss it out. Bottom line: it ain't no Volnay, drink up.

Shit, goddamn, get off your ass and jam! And don't open this for a while if you have a pristine bottle.

Touch o tomato and mud. Drink up, but do it with something to sop up some moderate tannins. Still has good acidity.

Holy crow. You can't ask for a wine from this vintage to be better preserved or fresh. Had to saber as the cork wouldn't release, so that was even more of a surprise. So nice.

Miserable ferking fail. ARGGGGHH! Fat, leesy, oxidative, not totally flat -- and I always thought over the past decade that if I opened it I'd be cradle-robbing... Provenance escapes me.

Perfect little Bordeaux. I guess the minor nature of the vintage shows itself, but it's not fading at all. And we're following up a 96 Cos D with this, so I'm sure it would shine a little brighter as an opener...

I don't understand the popularity of these wines. They are clusmsy, waxen, phenolic, and in this vintage, over-ripe.

Freaking oak bomb. For shame, the raw material has enough acid to pull this through a classic presentation.
