Nice deep garnet color with nose of violets, black cherry, currant and earth. Persistent tannins that were well integrated with a medium to full bodied wine that was smooth with fruit of black cherry, currant, tar and earth. A wine early in the drinking window.

Despite it's age, it was lively with fruit and tannin. The bouquet was alluring and full. Medium garnet in color. Full bodies with red fruit and red licorice. Very long length. This wine is still a baby.

Beautifully developed wine. Opaque in color of dark purple. Fruit was fully developed with blackberry and black currant and a dollop of licorice on the nose and palate. Tannins in the background which made for an easy drinking red with fantastic concentration on both the nose and the palate. This wine has met its time. Drink now and you won't be disappointed!

Beautifully concentrated wine that lingers over the palate with blackberry, licorice, earth and plum. Nose is intoxicating. Wine is opaque with really no signs of age. Velvety comes to mind. Only thing I wished for was a little more acidity but I am splitting hairs now. It won't get any better. Drink up!

As previously noted, the wine is ready to drink and exhibits character of a aged Bordeaux. Supple with black cherry and notes of earth. Nice wine.

Fabulous wine that was even more stunning the second day. Opulent nose of black raspberry and blackberry with hints of pepper and spice. the wine envelopes the mouth with black fruit that and spice that gives way to firm tannins and a nice snap of acidity. Wine goes long.

A wine that is typical for the hot vintage. Not a lot of complexity. Stewed fruit in character with black cherry dominating and a touch of earthiness. Tannins were almost not existent. Color was opaque and starting to brown a bit on the edges. Good concentration for what it was.

A simple light sipper that exhibits pinot character with no complexity. Great for bistro lunch or summer picnic. Light garnet in color. Simple aromas of red cherry and strawberry. No tannins to speak of and short on body and length

Not an overly complex wine. Pale lemon in color. Nose is Medium minus in intensity with notes of pear, apple and spice. On the palate is medium minis in body and length. Good acidity with flavors of pear, apple and some mineral notes. A simple, unpretentious wine for every night sipping or a picnic.

Drinking very nicely now. Color still dark with little signs of age. Tannins are persistent but well manage. Great cabernet attributes. Black cherry, black current and plum throughout. It was #2 of the OTBN and once again beaten by an Aussie wine which didn't not go as well with the food.

A wine of finesse, yet full bodied with ample tannins that were a match to the fruit. Flavors and aromas of black cherry and black currant leaf that were persistent that matched well with braised short ribs. This is a wine that did not come up short.

Definite "Wow" factor. Medium ruby in color. Concern before opening was the 16% alcohol. Well balanced with nice red fruits and spice on the nose and the palate. Great length. Definitely a wine to savor.

A wine waiting to be drunk. Starting to have some brick color to it. Mature cab fruit with earth and forest flood. Almost a candied black cherry on the finish. The tannins ware well integrated and fine. This is a wine to drink now and enjoy . You will certainly enjoy it now!

Reminded me of a Cotes du Rhone but with a lot more body and flavor. Very fruity but not over the top with bit of acidity to keep it from being cloying. Tannins were ultra fine. Purple and opaque in color. Bursting with black berry and black raspberry. Very nice length. 14.8 alcohol but balanced.

A complete wine. Still almost opaque and purple. Heady nose of fruits and spice that was out of this world. Palate had silky smooth tannins with luscious fruits of blackberry, plum and black cherry. Long and deep finish. A wine to linger over!

Clearly an aged bottle and some might say went down too quickly. Savory nose of leather and meat with some plum and spice gave way to a palate that dusty and dry with no fruit. So much for listening to the Aussie who said it would go on for years before opening. He was clearly wrong. Drink up but I'll warn you that we didn't finish the bottle.

Surprisingly light in color, light in body and short in length. Color reminded me of a village Burgundy - pale garnet. Not what I expected. Aromas of cranberry and red cherry with a little spice. Same thing on the palate. An OK wine but not in the $40 range.

Well, Barbara McNamara gave it 100. Not someone you can say no too. Anyway, it is what mature Bordeaux should be. Pronounced nose of earth and forest floor with black cherry, current and graphite. A medium bodied wine that had acidity to match the flavors noted above. Good length with fine tannins that were fully integrated. Matched beautifully with the prime beef filets. Drink up!

As with all Bedrock wines - glass staining inky color. Nose give the immediate impression of red fruits and red licorice. Quite the punch of astringency on the palate. Again, not overwhelming with fruit but also does not compete with food. Medium bodied. More red fruit and spice on the palate. Interesting wine that should not be missed.

It hit the spot. Everything you would want in a cabernet. Not showing a lot of age. Deep garnet with ink staining legs. Expressive nose of black cherry, black current and most prominently blackberry with a whiff of forest floor. Alcohol was medium plus and the tannins were persistent yet supple when matched with the cassoulet. A wine to be lingered over. Will be drinking well for the next five years.

Opaque in color - purple. Was was amazed in the finesse of this wine. No fruit bomb here. Tannins while evident, they were never in the way. Flavors of blackberry, black raspberry, spice and a touch of oak. While this wine will go on and on. Well balanced - alcohol while high was never an issue. Never competed with the food. Just complemented. Drink whenever you have the hankering for something special.

Stunning nose of blackberry, plum and black raspberry and oak that envelopes your nose with a hint of pencil lead. Opaque purple in color with long legs. Enticing. Acidity to match the fine grained tannins that were medium plus. Nice length with fruits as above. Well rounded but could have had a little more depth. It became short after 2 1/2 hours. Drink up!

Found the wine disappointing. The promise in the nose did not meet the expectations of the palate because of the lack of fruit and the amount of tannin. That said, this is a fully mature wine and reminds me of Bordeaux that actually matched well with the beef. On its own, not much to love. Color medium garnet, nose of plum, black cherry and earth of medium intensity. Finish wasn't just short, pretty much not there.

Ridiculously good for the price! Everything in a Argentine Malbec. Clean nose of medium intensity. Deep purple in color with black fruits with hint of gaminess. Blackberry fruit comes through with tannins that are well integrated. A restrained wine that makes me say buy a case!

Initially impressed by the old world nose of earthiness with plum and black currant. Good Color but that's where it ended. Found the palate thin with tannins what were readily apparent with not fruit to match. Length was a bit short. Much better wines from Argentina for the price.

Disappointing. initial nose was very cabernet like with plum, black current leaf and black cheery. Palate was middling. Lack of concentration and secondary fruits was quite apparent. Tannins were soft and muted. Hoping for more at $45.

Nice brambly fruit on the nose but a noticeable lack of body and a mid-palate that had an echo of hollowness - "hello down there? with no response." Short finish. Yes, it is only $10 but not worth my time. This doesn't fit any description that I know of for a 90 point wine.

The wine was purple opaque in color. Dense in every sense of the word. Reminded me more of dessert of blackberry cobbler - overwhelming my taste buds and finding frankly hard to pair with anything. I little lighter touch was in order. Tannins were well integrated but it was showing much more thank 14.5 % alcohol. Day 2 muted fruit and tannins were showy.

Selection by Erikingamer and a good one! This wine is a baby. Opaque purple in color. Unfortunately only an hour decant. Pronounced nose of Blackberry and black currant complemented by spice. Ink staining skinny legs that hung to the side of the glass. Tannin was high but finely grained. A full throttled wine that needs plenty of time develop. Matched well with beef, onions and carrots where the wine could really shine. Have patience and it will bring further rewards.

It has become that $7.99 weeknight wine. Not much fruit, tannin or acidity to speak of. Medium body with notes of earth; plum and black currant. Throwing sediment. Decant if you must but you will be stripping what body is left.

I was hoping for a drive worth having but, alas is was not. Promising nose of black cherry, earth, and licorice turned into a Hobbs like - nasty brutish and short. Past its prime. Well, Don like it. Down the drain it goes. Some much for a snowstorm treat. Color medium plus garnet. Tannins still alive.

Nice effort. Glass staining with a slow drip of legs. Color is clear and of medium plus garnet with medium intensity in the nose. Clean with blackberry, plum and stewed fruit. Secondary notes of black current leaf and black cherry. Palate was of high acidity and high tannins that were fine and presistent. Mouth puckering. Finish is medium with blackberry and black cheery.

Dark and brooding. Decanter for two hours before Christmas dinner of beef tenderloin. Opaque and showing no signs of wear. This wine can go on for decades. While tannins were plentiful, they danced a waltz with the tenderloin that was quite seamless - almost floating through air. Impressive!

Nope, no 90 point wine as Wine Enthusiast said. Opaque but what do you expect for Touriga Nacional. Huge tannins. This is definitely a winter time chili/stew wine. Blackberry and spice on the nose. Tart and tannins dominate the palate. Blackberry fruit shows through despite the tannins. Full bodied but medium length. This could go years but it troubles me what it will evolve into.

Bravo! An exceptional wine that will bring enjoyment for years to come. What stands out is the petit verdot. Brings the color in at a deep purple and adds a wonderful spicy edge to the nose and on the palate. Sturdy tannins that don't overwhelm with good acidity to match. Great length and full body. Can't hardly wait till the next bottle

Clear and bright with legs noted. Color was medium garnet with a nose of medium minus intensity. Good Acidity that match tannins with fruit consisting of plum and black cherry. Secondary characteristics of earth and tobacco. A nice wine with grilled food. Could use a couple years of further aging but won't get appreciably better.

Medium garnet in color with a muted nose of cherry cola, forest floor and licorice. Medium body with a medium plus length. Tannins were fine and quite restrained. Palate displayed cherry cola, forest floor and both black and red licorice. Nice wine that had elements identified with Santa Barbara and Burgundy. This is ready to drink now.
