She said YES! So...we clearly enjoyed these bubbles very much. It is still quite youthful at 10 years and just beginning to show the rich complexity it has the potential to develop over the next five to ten years. It has fine structure and depth, and we suspect it will score even higher as time goes by.

Assessing this wine objectively, I don't know where I sit on this one.

On one hand, it is a tour de force - opaque inky-black, intense, powerful, concentrated with smooth tannins, predominantly black fruits on the nose and palate, full-bodied and a long finish.

On the other, after drinking a (young) Margaret River cabernet immediately before, it came across as overly alcoholic, clunky, port-like and jammy. Undoubtedly a wine of high quality, but not one I would be happy owning a case of for the following years, but one which I could see making many people very happy indeed...

11/16/15, 1:37 PM - Thanks for the advice Pclin - I was sorely tempted but I formed the opinion that it was very well made for what it is, if you like that style. I have a similar dilemma to you, but it's several vintages of Greenock Creek from the same years. Not sure whether to accept my tastes have changed and sell them in Bond or get them out and try them...

11/17/15, 1:01 AM - I've moved to Clonakilla and had purchased Penfolds from years ago (sadly not enough) but I'll keep and eye out for Cullen as I've not got any of that. Thanks for the tips!
