Big fan. This champagne is delicious. Worth every penny. It's everything I wish for in a champagne. The magnum size complements this wine very well.

Took the bottle to London for a dinner at Hawksmoor with 2 friends. They do bring-your-own-wine on Monday.

Allowed the waiter to open the bottle and they dropped the cork into the bottle and as a result we had to strain and carafe the wine.

I feel that affected the taste some but it was still a delicious Saint Julien. I really like this vintage.

We paired it with steaks and it stood up very well to the challenge. Still very much recommended.

The lovely people at Siduri recommended we visit the tasting room at Benovia.

The hospitality director at Benovia is wonderful and the location beautiful. We got to lounge on the couches for several hours discovering many of their pinot noirs. One of the Chardonnay was also great but let's get to the notes:

We had the unique opportunity to try a flight of 2008, 2009 and 2010 Bella Una Pinot Noir.

There is absolutely something about this 2009. At 4 years old now, it is definitely getting there.

We favored it over 4 hours. It needs a bit of time to open. I just tried a bit of it now after the bottle was opened for 16 hours, tasted wonderful.

It's lush, great deep color. The nose is near perfect. It's almost a shame drinking it.

The fruits are very present as mentioned on the other notes. Maybe not as ripped as generally stated. It demonstrates an amazing attention to the quality of the fruit itself.

Pairing: Dessert! The wine tasting excellent until I tried it with a cupcake then it became delicious (and I don't generally like cupcakes).

If you can get a bottle, don't hesitate one second.

Opened the second bottle of a series of six. The first one stroke us as a magnificent. You can completely ignore the year on that wine.

This one is just as good if not better. Every note is subtle, the aromas are delicious and the length even today is perfectly correct.

It deserved to be drank now. It remains a tight when chilly. Make sure you bring it to room temperature early enough to let it breath properly. Peaks after a bit over 1h.

Doubtlessly the best champagne we drank last year.

It was conserved in its original packaging in the cellar since the release. Zero light exposure and never moved. Bright cold in color with a slight rose and orange hue.

For that age the nose was fabulous, full of tones. Clear notes of nuts and apples. Sublime finish.

It's been almost a year since we drank, paired it with the finest things and our only regret was to only have one bottle.

Had Billecart-Salmon Rosé and Brut (not sure what vintages) around the same time but neither come even close.

This reserve personnelle from 1993 aged fine. It's definitely short now but still pleasant. Our Gilles will definitely tolerate drinking it and it will be ideal for cooking with a good aroma and very low tannin.

The aroma and flavor are escaping me so another tasting will be required.

Fantastic nose. Opened very quickly. Very well balanced. Vanilla, Cedar and many other notes that we need to refine the next tasting.

Decided to go digging into the cellar and salvage as much of it as possible. Too busy to enjoy its content, its been aging mostly undisturbed since its release (the cellar was only moved once).

So this Tokay Pinot Gris was the first thing we elected to open thinking not much ogf it. WHAT a surprise. The color alone is worth pouring it into a glass. It's beautiful, the texture, the tint, everything about it.

The aroma is still definitely there. Quite surprisingly conserved. Very feminine. A great taste of Vanilla. Of course it is sweet, very soft and silky.

Amazing for that age. Thought we would go back downstairs and throw all of them away (or at best cook with it) but totally wrong.

Hopefully many more surprises to come.

The wine looks Yellow gold colored.
The legs are Medium.
It smells like Pear, and Vanilla.
It tastes like Raisin, Vanilla, and Pear.
The body is Light.
The wine is textured Silky.
The wine finishes Short.
