This was amazingly luscious. Chewy, with dark brooding fruit. The second day I found the bottle with a glass that didn’t get consumed. It was even better, though a little less chewy. Surprise!!!

So glad we bought a bunch of this when we visited the winery in 2015. Decanted three hours before dinner of home made pasta with home grown and made tomato sauce with sweet Italian sausage.
Sexy and elegant. Dark cherries, blueberries, nice bit of ash. Fantastic example of Brunello.

Scrumptious, as expected. Decanted about a hour. Dark fruits forward. Thick and chewy. Fantastic Charlie Wagner example.

Decanted for 3 hours. Fantastic. Dark berries, old strawberries, hints of baseball-glove leather, just the tiniest bits of brick/ash. The only disappointment is this was our last bottle.

Deep ruby color with long legs. Aroma and deep flavor of extremely ripe strawberries - not the fresh fruity kind, but the very old strawberries that you forgot in the back of the refrigerator. Amazing flavor but subtle, in the middle and background. Some bricky dryness along the sides. Wow, am I sorry this is the last bottle. Actually, it had gotten lost in a wooden box for a decade with some French Bordeauxs. Served before and with a butcher-cut T-bone steak. Couldn’t ask for a better combination.

Lovely California Cabernet. Some fruit, dark berries, some leather, chewy. Served with grilled steak with just salt and pepper. Nice compliment.
Glad we have more

Unexpected terrible bottle. Others before this have been wonderful. Not corked - cellared properly - just smelled and tasted like soap, even after decanter for almost 2 hours. No reason known. No excuse. Totally disappointed!

This is a long time favorite. Bold chocolate, black cherries, blackberries. A lovely leathery background holding it all together. Great intensity. Love this stuff!

Decanted for several hours before meal if hand-made pasta with bolognese. Cherries, strawberries, leather, plums. Lovely, chewy texture. Long finish. A lovely example from a great vintner given a tough vintage.

Not bad for being past it’s prime. Raisiny with a chalky mouth-feel. Got lost in the back of the rack waiting for guests to come back after pandemic. Acceptable at best.

Lovely, fruit forward blend. Totally dependable when you need a sipper with any friends who do, or do not regularly enjoy wine. Little bit if leather. Just a little edgy, in a good way. Love this stuff!

A little thin like many of the 2011’s. Otherwise nice tanins. Exactly what we expected.

This was a very odd-tasting Zin. It was very bitter. Not the usual Lodi scrumtiousness. It wasn’t corked, or stored improperly. No bold fruit. No in-your-face luscious texture normally associated with Lodi. Very disappointing.

We let this one sit too long. Past it’s prime. Brown-ish, brick. Lots of prunes. Barely drinkable, but the beef steaks allowed consumption. If you have any of this, drink it now. It will be in-drinkable in months. Some may not drink it now. What a shame. Earlier bottles were fantastic!

What a lovely little Pinot Noir. Fruit forward, medium body, nice legs. More berries than I expected with a Pinot. Opened just to sip - not served with any food. We were very pleasantly surprised, having never heard of this Vineyard. The $20 price tag makes it even better.

Opened for two hours before tasting. The wine looks deep-garnet, leaning to brown-ish. There was moderate to heavy sediment in the bottle. Aromas were mineral, vanilla, bark, tobacco and tar. The body is medium/full. The wine has a wonderfully smooth texture with a long finish. The wine has medium to low acidity. This was a lovely bottle - the only one we had. I only wish we had more!

Decanted twenty minutes before tasting. Deep fruit, cherry, dark ruby color. Lovely finish. Not overly dry. Mouth-feel a little thin-ish for an Amarone, but wonderful nonetheless. This is drinkable now with pleasure but will age gracefully. We'll have another bottle in a year or two and look forward with great enthusiasm.

Very dark purple. Decanted 2 hours (unintentionally). There was moderate sediment in the bottle. Medium legs. Strong nose, dark-black acidic berries. The body is medium/full with a smooth mouth-feel. A bit hot and tight - even after the decant. Tastes of mineral, stoniness and tar. I thought it would loosen up a little more than it did. Served with a simple pasta/tomato sauce dish. Wonderfully complimented the food more so than just sipping. Definitely ready to drink now, though I might give my remaining bottles one more birthday.

Our last bottle. Rats! No meal, just a weekend sipper. Super fruity as expected. Full, chewy mouth-feel. Wonderful aroma. Sticks to the glass. We keep this for those times when we want something "over the top" and this lived up to our expectations. Gotta find more.

Big jammy fruit-bomb with loads of blackerries and blueberries backed up with some light spice and tar. This was a sipper on a sunny Saturday afternoon - not with a meal. Not necessarily an every day wine, but on those rare occasions when you want something spectaculerly overkill, this is the thing. Wonderful.

A lovely Aussie Shiraz. Had the opportunity to decant for an hour before drinking. Had a small taste while decanting. Out of the bottle caused a little worry as it was a little hot. It was really worth the wait. Wonderful aroma of coffee, leather, and raisins. Chewy mouth-feel. Deep color, almost black. A great compliment to the beef roast with wild mushrooms.
