Still tannic, perhaps partially due to the sediment in the bottle. Very enjoyable as it has perhaps moved past middle age. The old wine notes are starting to come through though enough fruit left to maintain the balance.

Decanted for an hour and that was probably too long. Still some tannins on the palate. I was expected a fuller bodied wine, that's my problem. This was lighter. Drink up.

Decanted for an hour. Still quite tannic. This should be kept for another couple of years. Can probably get to 89 with time.

Decanted for about 45 mins. Not too much to say about the nose. The palate was excellent. The balance between the fruit and acidity was right.

Raised cork that predictably resulted in oxidation. Was still excellent but the acidity was gone and it had evolved into a sort of low alcohol liquer state. Lots of sugar, syrupy, and some cork that gradually disappeared. I have a 2005 Prum with the same raised cork issue...

Cork broke in half while opening, so I ended up decanting the wine though we started drinking as soon as the wine was poured. Interestingly, the first couple of mouthfuls were quite tannic, reminding me of the 1st bottle I consumed many years ago. The tannins never entirely dissipated, which was a nice foundation for a wonderfully spicy mouthfeel that still had plenty of fruit. This wine could've been stored for at least a couple more years given the lingering tannins, just not sure it's really going to improve all that much.

Decanted for 1 hour and it needed 1.5 hours to open. Some tannins remained on what was a very soft mouthfeel.
The wine lacked complexity and thus the rating but there wasn't anything wrong with it persay. This bottle didn't need more time-the lingering tannins helped put some structure around the wine.

Marked down due to the neutral nose but the palate is exciting. Kudos to the blender. Stone fruit, some acidity. Enough acidity to stand up to the cream stew with which it was paired.

Impressively elegant. Light acidity, passion fruit is there but you have to pay attention to this wine.

Aging well, secondary flavors coming out. Still has that powerful '09 fruit but it dissipates into dryness now.

Prominent oak, seems to be new French, so further development possible. I enjoyed this wine, at least partially because it's so different from other St. Em GC.

Honey and flowers. I can't say what kind of flowers, mind. There was even a hint of lingering acidity. It was certainly interesting to drink this 26 years on but I suspect it would have been more complex 10 years ago. Certainly oxidized, unsurprisingly.

Strawberries on the palate. This flavor dissipated as the wine was exposed to air, leaving something less interesting.

Structure here, I think put it by the blend (Syrah and Mourvedre) and judicious oak. This wine has come together but I think it could get a bit better, likely peaking in 1-2 years. Secondary flavors make the party in this wine.

Negroamaro 80% and Malvasia 20% blend retailing for ¥1,200 in Tokyo. Outstanding QPR. Complexity won't blow you away but well-made and great with meats and cheeses.

Takes some time to open, even after a 30 min decant. Tannins largely absent, this wine can be consumed now...or later. I suppose some improvement is possible-this bottle was lacking some expected complexity. Still, there were secondary flavors, though primarily oak-related in my opinion.

Takes time to open. Fully integrated elegance. Still some dry tannins and even some old wine sourness but these burned off.

This style won't be to everyone's taste, particularly if you subsist on a steady Burgundian diet; however, the wine is well made. Lots of fruit, still, this wine can be kept longer.

Decanted for one hour and this was ready. Still some oaky notes on the nose and palate and tannins came out about two hours into the bottle. No surprise that this wine can handle more bottle time.

There is complexity here, secondary flavors come out to play almost immediately. Some pear and potentially green apple, fresh flavors.

Perhaps a 45 min decant was the culprit and/or poor storage but I found this a desiccated husk with little secondary or tertiary flavors one would expect from a wine of this age if there was no longer any fruit.
And there isn't, at least not in this bottle.
Past its peak.

Grass, citrus, and lychee. Tremendous nose fools the palate into thinking this wine will be fruity and sweet. I suspect this wine is a bit over the hill, it would have been fun to have a bit more fruit on the palate but I'm grasping at straws because the complexity is there to warrant the rating.

Spicier, sharper, bigger than what you would get in CdP. Great value wine that goes well with meat or a cheese and ham plate. Not a wine that is going to make you think but that's OK sometimes.

Still slightly tannic, this is nonetheless ready to drink. Complex layers of flavor with chocolate as the surprise. I have previously enjoyed Camus 2000-2001 vintages. I will likely buy more of this.
