taking everything into account, including price and QPR, this is a very good find and a go-to starter for any event. Yes, the bubbles die out after about 15 minutes but not terribly so -- and we rarely make it past 10 minutes after the pour anyway. So, charge your flutes, welcome your guests, have a toast... and them move on to the more serious wines.

Ruby red color, clear like a Pinot Noir with complexities similar to a fine Burgundy. Lots of fruit up front with hints of gnarly, smokey vine branches... Not vinous, more wood and iron. A nice drink for sure.

Is a great conversation wine, quite a bit going on with herbs and some musty notes. This is not a huge wine but it is drinkable now and if it breathes for 30-minutes it is very approachable.

Very smooth, almost like an aged sangiovese as opposed to a zin. Lots of fruit up front but not sweet, more rich with plenty of finish. Popular at two parties -- not a dry glass in the house.

Excelled as the night went on -- should have opened another bottle but was being selfish -- 5 in our group tasted, all with positive notes and comments. Maybe lighter than the typical Brunello but not by much... rustic and robust but not overpowering. Give it at least 2hrs in a decanter or pitcher. Exceptional QPR if you find this in Europe for less than $50 equivalent.

Quite a bit of character and fruit...even better on the second day after leaving in the bottle with a vacuum stopper.

It is very good but did not taste like a 96pt wine. Understand that ratings are relative to the style of wine (Toscana tasted against other Toscanas)...in that regard it may rate that high. Smooth with pleasant aftertaste that will probably incorporate into the main drink over a couple of years -- maybe that's why recommended after 2014.
