Was a little flat. The tannins weren't quite there, but did have the silver oak style.

Not like any Pinot I know. Green, and bitter. Hoping it somehow gets better with age.

Much, much better than the 09. Smooth, silky tannins at this young age. A little heat, but not overwhelming. Cherry, wet wood.

In a bit of an awkward phase. Was actually better right out of the bottle than after 3 hours in the decanter. Very tannic, but you could tell that it will be silky, smooth with time.

Decanted for 2 hours. Was initially very smooth and well balanced. Raisins, prunes, mushrooms, and well integrated oakiness. But became incredibly tannic on the second/third glass. SHould have left the third glass to see how it turned out over night. Should age well.

Decanted for about 1.5 hours. Very well balanced. The sangiovese is more forward than in most super tuscans. Really enjoyed with sausage and mushroom risotto pairing. The black fruits paired up very well. Slight hints of wood too.

A little hot at the outset, but became more balanced as it opened. Only decanted for about 30 minutes, and it probably needed at least two hours. Deep nose of farm, leather, black fruit. Peppery and smoked meats.

One of the best Merlots I have had in a while. Very complex, and still evolving. Cinnamon and cloves overwhelm the nose, and some black fruit too. Still a lot of heat, but should mellow as tannins mature. Black fruit and mocha.
