12/27/23, 1:26 PM - Thanks for the comment on the wine. It is "California" appellation as it comes from a range of cool climate Syrah sites including Santa Maria and Santa Barbara along with Sonoma and Napa. Cheers!
1/1/24, 8:26 AM - The podcast, as mentioned above, goes into it more deeply but it comes from a number of SB sites including White Hawk, Bien Nacido, Nolan, Kimsey and more along with Weill and Hudson on the North Coast. All sites we typically make vineyard designate/higher end Syrah bottling from- this is a blend of declassified barrels.
12/24/23, 8:12 AM - Sounds like a bad cork to me. Please reach out to Jackie or I at morgan@bedrockwineco.com or jackie@bedrockwineco.com so we can get you a replacement bottle. Cheers!
12/6/23, 4:34 PM - Montafi Ranch :)
7/15/23, 9:03 PM - Sorry to hear this- always a bummer when this happens. Please reach out to myself or Jackie so we can get you a replacement, morgan@bedrockwineco.com or jackie@bedrockwineco.com. -MTP
6/25/23, 9:26 PM - Uggh, sounds a bit corked to me as this wine should have pretty amplified perfume. Please email us at morgan@bedrockwineco.com or jackie@bedrockwineco.com so we can send you a replacement. -MTP
2/25/23, 9:50 PM - Sorry it didn't sit right, that sounds like an off/mildly corked bottle as it doesn't match the wine we've opened a couple times over the last few weeks. Please reach out to me at morgan@bedrockwineco.com so we can replace it.
2/19/23, 3:20 PM - Hate when this happens. Please email us at morgan@bedrockwineco.com and jackie@bedrockwineco.com and we will find a way to get you a replacement.
1/30/23, 11:19 AM - I just opened a bottle of this on Friday and this is not at all the wine that was there- sounds like maybe a mildly corked bottle as that can really cover up fruit. Please email us for a replacement- morgan@bedrockwineco.com or jackie@bedrockwineco.com. Thanks.
11/28/22, 9:26 AM - Sorry to hear about this- losing the cork lottery is never fun. Please reach out to us for a replacement. jackie@bedrockwineco.com or morgan@bedrockwineco.com. Thanks!
6/15/22, 8:57 AM - Ugh, sorry about that. Reach out to us at morgan@bedrockwineco.com or jackie@bedrockwineco.com and we can see if we dig up a replacement from the library. Cheers!
4/30/22, 7:52 AM - Hmm, that does not sound right. The last bottle I opened a few weeks ago was super-energetic and perfumed and still took a couple nights to unwind. Maybe a mildly corked bottle? Happy to send you a replacement if you reach out to us. Cheers! -M
12/10/21, 7:50 AM - This sounds pretty clearly like a corked bottle. Please reach out to me at morgan@bedrockwineco.com and/or jackie@bedrockwineco.com and we can get you set up with a replacement. Not sure if we have that vintage still available in the library but can certainly get you something similar. Best- Morgan
9/6/21, 8:30 PM - Sorry it didn't show well- 2014 was a challenging year but that is not a great excuse. That said, we have NEVER used mega-purple in our wines, just the power of Carignan, Zin and mixed blacks in this particular situation.
7/24/21, 9:45 PM - Bummer. Email me at morgan@bedrockwineco.com or Jackie at jackie@bedrockwineco.com and we can get you set up with a replacement bottle.
4/8/21, 4:48 PM - Bummer! Email me at morgan@bedrockwineco.com and we can set up sending you a replacement.
2/21/21, 9:01 PM - Sounds like a corked bottle, obviously more than happy to replace when you grab your next order!
2/21/21, 8:58 PM - Sounds like a flawed bottle. Please reach out to us at morgan@bedrockwineco.com or chris@bedrockwineco.com so we can try to replace (it's an older vintage so might be a bit tougher but we can at least send you something equivalent).
8/23/20, 5:36 PM - Bummer, please email us at morgan@bedrockwineco.com or jackie@bedrockwineco.com and we will replace the bottle. Cheers! -Morgan
7/29/20, 8:43 PM - Hey there- sorry to hear about this, always a bummer. Please email us at morgan@bedrockwineco.com or chris@bedrockwineco.com and we will get you a replacement bottle. Cheers! -M
4/12/20, 6:19 PM - Sorry to hear this- please email me at morgan@bedrockwineco.com and we will get you a replacement bottle. Cheers!
9/19/18, 9:02 PM - Buried in harvest and a little sleep deprived right now so sorry if this is more brief or less eloquent than ideal (the grammar on that sentence already sucks). Sounds like a corked bottle and not in line at all with the bottle I opened a couple days ago. I would happily replace the bottle(s), just email me (morgan@bedrockwineco.com) or Chris (chris@bedrockwineco.com) and we will get it done.
4/26/18, 6:09 PM - Hey there- This doesn't match the wine I have had so many times. Potentially a corked bottle (particularly the chemical smell comment). Please reach out to Chris or I at chris@bedrockwineco.com or morgan@bedrockwineco.com and we can get you a fresh bottle.
11/25/17, 11:26 PM - Our wines tend to be a little more pulled back then most Zins, that said this does not match my experience with this wine. Please reach out to Chris or I so we can get you a fresh bottle- morgan@bedrockwineco.com or chris@bedrockwineco.com. Cheers!
11/25/17, 11:25 PM - This certainly does not sound like the wine. Reach out to Chris or I and we can get you a fresh bottle. morgan@bedrockwineco.com or chris@bedrockwineco.com. Cheers! -Morgan
9/28/17, 9:07 PM - This very much sounds like a corked bottle. Please email us at chris@bedrockwineco.com or morgan@bedrockwineco.com so we can arrange to send you a replacement bottle!
9/28/17, 9:06 PM - Ugh. Bummer. We only have a few of these left at the winery as we made so little but I would happily get you a bottle of something else to hopefully make it up to you!
6/6/17, 9:55 PM - Sorry this didn't show well for you- does not sound at all like the bottles I have opened recently. Reach out to Chris or I (chris@bedrockwineco.com or morgan@bedrockwineco.com) and we will figure out a way to get you a replacement bottle. - Morgan
5/14/17, 8:32 PM - Sorry you didn't enjoy it, I work really hard on Lulu and thankfully others see its charm. And though your confidence is impressive I would note the wine is completely made from old-vine Mataro and Grenache that is picked between 11.5% and 12.8% potential alcohol and whole-cluster pressed- I have never used saignee for the wine, ever.
6/12/16, 8:16 AM - For what it is worth, the 2011 was actually picked quite a bit riper than the 2013, the pH lower and the acid is higher. Also, this sounds nothing like the 2013 that I know and love- actually sounds a bit like a cooked bottle. Happy to provide a replacement for you to give it a go again, just send me an email at morgan@bedrockwineco.com.
5/20/16, 10:41 AM - Sorry to hear this. Please reach out to us at morgan@bedrockwineco.com or chris@bedrockwineco.com so we can get a replacement bottle out to you.
5/10/16, 8:44 AM - Hate it when this happens! Please reach out to us at chris@bedrockwineco.com and we will arrange to get you a replacement bottle. Cheers!
3/5/16, 8:45 AM - Hi Frank. I cannot help but think you got an off bottle of this wine- out of curiosity where was it stored? Your notes could indicate heat damage. When we did our 2011 restrospective tasting a few months ago this wine was fresh and vibrant and just behind that Saitone Ranch as one of our favorite wines from the vintage. I am not sure how much we have in the library but if there is enough I am happy to provide a replacement bottle. Sorry you had a bad experience with it!
5/27/15, 8:34 AM - Feel free to reach out to us for a replacement. morgan@bedrockwineco.com or chris@bedrockwineco.com
5/27/15, 8:33 AM - Feel free to reach out to us for a replacement.morgan@bedrockwineco.com or chris@bedrockwineco.com
3/12/15, 4:46 PM - Feel free to reach out for a replacement bottle. This note does not sound right at all. morgan@bedrockwineco.com
3/9/15, 8:45 PM - Sorry to hear of your displeasure with the wine. For what it is worth 2010 is one of the biggest outlier vintages we have had in California due to the cold summer and then unimaginable heat that came in late August and caused a fair amount of sunburn. I would be happy to replace this bottle with a North Coast Syrah from 2011, 12, or 13, all of which I prefer and might be more to your taste.
1/20/15, 9:21 PM - Sorry to hear that the wine did not land right for you. I would be happy to send a replacement bottle in case the wine was slightly off for some reason, or send something else you might enjoy more. Just email us at morgan@bedrockwineco.com or chris@bedrockwineco.com.
1/17/15, 6:27 PM - Shit, that sucks. Reach out to us, morgan@bedrockwineco or chris@bedrockwineco.com, and we will get you a replacement bottle.
1/15/15, 8:11 PM - That does not sound right. Send us an email at morgan@bedrockwineco.com or chris@bedrockwineco.com and we will see if we can find a replacement bottle for you.
11/17/14, 7:59 PM - I've not had this wine in a while but will crack one soon. I wish I could offer a replacement from good provenance but I only have 20 bottles or so for my own cellar. Happy to send you another bottle of something else!
10/28/14, 8:14 PM - I do not like hearing about mustiness, perhaps a trace of cork? We will happily send a replacement bottle.
10/26/14, 7:09 PM - The vineyard is about 65% Zinfandel with the remainder being Petite Sirah, Alicante Bouschet, Syrah, Mondeuse, Teroldego, Palamino, and a trace of Black Muscat. No residual sugar at all in this wine but it does have the classic Dolinsek fruit richness (and also the classic low Dolinsek pH, this year around 3.45 pH)
10/17/14, 1:49 PM - Sorry to hear this! We have found most of them to be quite lively still. We would be happy to send a replacement of the 2012 if you would like.- Morgan
8/1/14, 8:15 PM - Sorry you had a corked bottle! Please reach out to us so we can replace- morgan@bedrockwineco.com, or chris@bedrockwineco.com. Cheers!- Morgan
6/1/14, 6:13 PM - Hey there- This wine is a baby as I make the Heritage wines in a way that are meant to resemble Ridge or Ravenswood wines of the early 90's- which have aged beautifully. However, unlike a lot of Zinfandel producers this means that some of the wines are not immediately accessible upon release (though some people like them with more structure and primary character). The lower priced wines, like the Old Vine are meant for earlier consumption, which is why you may have had a better experience with them. Replevin. When do you suggest that I release the wines? Do you say that Napa Cabernets that are meant to be aged for a while to gain complexity are also released too early?
5/30/14, 10:39 AM - Hi there- Sorry you did not enjoy the wine. Thankfully this has not been the experience for most other people and critics who have had it. We would happily replace or refund other bottles of this wine that you might have with one you might enjoy more. -Morgan
5/26/14, 9:18 PM - Hey there- Looks like you had both a corked 11 and a 10, or was it just one of them (I hope!)? Let us know and we can figure out a way to get a replacement bottle or something equivalent out to you. Email us at morgan@bedrockwineco.com or chris@bedrockwineco.com. Cheers!
3/26/14, 9:51 PM - We liken it to Nerello Mascalese- to sound really douchy :)
3/26/14, 8:45 PM - Just an FYI, this wine only saw 20% new French oak.
3/2/14, 9:13 AM - Hey there- Sorry you had a corked bottle. Reach out to me or Chris at morgan@bedrockwineco.com, or chris@bedrockwineco.com so we can send you out a replacement bottle.- Morgan
3/2/14, 9:16 AM - Hey there- Sorry you had a corked bottle. Reach out to me or Chris at morgan@bedrockwineco.com, or chris@bedrockwineco.com so we can send you out a replacement bottle.- Morgan
