Solidly Sangiovese. Dark chocolate, tobacco, leather. Beats many higher priced Brunellos IMO.

- Yellow gold color - Golden yellow. Citrus. More unripened orange than lemon. Above average Italian white.

Aerated and decanted and was still a little hot. Very flavorful. Bitter dark chocolate and raisin. Flavors are magnified in this great vintage. Small sips do the trick.

- Garnet color - This could pass for a high priced Brunello. Loaded with dark and spicy flavors that linger. Leather and tobacco are most apparent flavors.
White - Sweet/Dessert

Pineapple, green apple unoaked ( I think).
Reminds me of Planeta la Segreta.
Nice crisp bite at the end. Not for the buttery Chard crowd.
I love it.

Leaning toward semi sweet. Low acidity with a heavy mouth feel (think skim milk). Cherry flavor minus the tartness. Decently long finish with hints of darker flavors. Very interesting and rare "non-food" Italian. A good choice for those who like fruit forward Cabs, but want something a little different. Worth the price.

Aerate or decant for an hour. Well worth the $11 cost. Raisiny and earthy. Typical of Italian, drink with food such as a red sauce. Solid Italian red.

Citrus and pineapple. One of my favorites with grilled chicken or seafood.

Serve cold with ripe cheese and fruit. Not a sweet desert wine such as ice wine. However, has nice notes of apple, honey and fig. Maybe even cinnamon or nutmeg.

Well aged. Dark, tobacco, dark chocolate, raisin, rounded tannins. Beautiful. Best wine I had in a while. I will buy more. It deserves a 93+. I usually rank in the 80s.

Kept it in a ice bucket on this hot day. I enjoy this type of wine slightly chilled.

Very good with grilled chicken and vegetables.

Excellent. Smoothed a bit by aging. Also brick red edges also tell of aging. Opened and drank over 4 -5 hours. It was a little over oxidized by the last glass.

Well worth the wait.

Needed an hour or two for heat to cool down. Red cherry tart with hints of vanilla that turn darker on the finish. Gripping tannins present but not strong.

Delicate for a Nebbiolo wine. Color is unusually clear ruby. Light weight mouth feel, yet sturdy flavors through out. Red cherry and cranapple? notes. Finishes with a surprise tart tannic bite. This is an Italian that can be enjoyed without food. More finesse than brawn, but not wimpy. Enjoyable.

I enjoyed this wine immensely. Opened the first bottle along side of an expensive CA cab and this showed to be superior with more depth and balance. Had the second bottle months later and it didn't disappoint. I bought some more and saw that the price had jumped up quite a bit. I guess the secret is out. My wine of the year. This is the highest that I ever rated a wine in Cellartracker. Sorry I don't have a detailed description. Drank both bottles with company and was unable to detail a tasting note, but overall impression was great.

Interesting blend. Tasted confused at first. Opened up and settled in after a few hours. The dark flavors of the Nero dAvola seemed more apparent than the cab. Although, I think there is more cab in the blend. 70/30 I think.
Overall impression is that it exceeds the $20 price.

Exceeds its price point.
Light to medium body.
Bright and fruity for an Italian. Still darker and dryer than the average red.
Very expressive opening with cherry and cranberry notes and a hint of a dark tannic finish.
Gets better with each sip. Nice balance.
