drinking really well and very nice

Opened and consumed over 5-6 hours. Nice developed fruit and complex flavors (the zippy tangy and some dill that I associate with this wine). Maybe a bit tired, hoping a little off given I have another 6 or so bottles.

Checked in on this in a random grab from the cellar on a Friday - wondering if its worth starting to dip into the 2005's. At first pretty waxy/oaky, but little tannic bite, fruit muted as expected. After several hours in the decanter, it was nice with dark fruits and smooth finish. Again tannins are reasonably mild. Still needs time to integrate the oak influence which is a bit much and hopefully will fade. I will hold the remaining 9 bottles in my case for several years. I find the 2001 to be in a much better place for current drinking

Agree with DJ’s note below …. Drinking great. Nice rich fruit and resolved tannins and oak largely in back. I didn’t get a lot of tertiary notes but very nice to consume now. None of the roasted elements I have found in other 2003’s

Delicious. Better day 2. My last bottle but if I had more I would hold a couple years.

Drinking very well and really this. Not a blockbuster but I was positively surprised given some of others experiences.

Delicious wine and a great pop and drink over a few hours on a Friday night after work. I agree with the notes below, great fruit forward and delicious wine - I see a little parallel to Caymus (which I am not a fan of), but like this much better. Also wish I had gotten more '17's based on this.

Drinking great. I had two bottles. Tried one several years ago and didn’t see it. This time a great wine. I will hold my 13-15’s

very good with nice fruit and tobacco, earthy notes. Didn't really need or benefit from decanting. Not sure this gets better? Would be interested in what others think. I have another case or so....

Cheers

Low shoulder and depressed cork and some signs of seepage, but this wine drank very nicely. similar to two notes below. aged, savory leather, forest floor and richness with nice acidity/freshness.

I have had some nice GL from 82 to 86. Have a sole bottle of '90 which I remember getting in NY in about 1994. Wonder if any of the GL from 1996 onwards will give similar future drinking experience. I have a few 2000, but thats it.

This is drinking great. Nice developed secondary flavors

Another bad bottle - or I just don't get this wine

Browning at the edges. Has a burnt roasted element. Assume its been cooked - but also feel like I had one good bottle out of the six pack.

Ok to drink but I think it’s over the hill

second to last bottle. First night a bit heavy on the oak, but night two this is drinking very nicely. A pleasant surprise.

Having mixed experience with this wine. My 3rd 375ml. One corked, one was very good and today one that is kind of off/skunky.

still have some 375's and a case of 750's.... hoping for better bottles

Delicious after a bit of air

Over the hill for my taste - too bad

Somewhat frustrating experience trying this wine (1 of 3 btls I have). Opened and decanted around 5:30pm. First glass ~ hour later was kind of flat/boring with muted oaky presence. Later with dinner it was still in relative same place with some fruit. Later during movie, say 10-11pm was the best, still rich body, with some oak, but now calmed down better depth and showing what i expected in forest/leathery flavors. Has me hopeful (and decanting a lot longer or holding another 5? 10? years, the other 2 and the one btl of CldLR that i have)

Seeing notes that this should be drunk up soon so I opened another.

I find this wine to show nice, rich earthy/fruit character, but with a touch of heavy ripeness. It did have some funk/over ripeness at opening that blew off after an hour or two in the decanter.

I like the wine, and don't find it declining (unless the borderline over ripe element is sign of decline vs. the original profile?). I have 5 or 6 more and will drink them periodically to keep tabs, but I am not rushing. I found the wine enjoyable and a well aged wine, if a bit heavier than some other Paulliac's of similar age tried lately

browning at the edges, with roasted fruit flavors with slight burnt flavor

OTH or heat damaged? Either way not good.

PALCB purchase so likely heat damaged... to bad. 5 left

2013 Blankiet Estate Rive Droite Napa Valley Red Bordeaux Blend (view label images)
Decanted a couple hours. Surprisingly soft (for what I expected from a 2013 at this stage). Sweet, red fruits with a touch of spicy vanilla on the finish. Delicious but for me lacking the layer of herbaceous complexity that I find in Bordeaux. I have 3 left and would likely drink over the next couple years. Cheers

2005 Château d'Aiguilhe Querre Castillon Côtes de Bordeaux Red Bordeaux Blend (view label images)
Drinking nicely for what it is, a inexpensive Bordeaux wine. I have 5 more and am in no particular rush

Drinking easy. Nice fruit and a sweet creamy vanilla oaky undertone. Quite nice and pleasant to drink but my palette is leaning more Bordeaux these days I will drink my remaining bottle soon
Red
This is drinking nicely, even benefited from an hour of air. Next up will revisit the 08 and 09.

This is drinking very nicely. Still primary fruit but very smooth and lovely.

Browning throughout and sherry Madeira flavors.... bummer but this must have gotten to hot at some point. Surprising given I bought this in early 2000's from Zachy's and it has been in my climate controlled cellar since.... oh well moving on to a 2001 bottle of the same.
Red
Drinking pretty well but I would drink em if you got em. I have one more and a few Titans that will go in the queue for opening soon. (these had gotten buried in a box in my cellar)

Drinking very nicely. Rich velvety fruit. Not over the hill to my taste. Bought on release

My solo bottle of this. Cork was soaked through and damp at the top. But wine is outstanding. Rich cedar and tobacco infused fruit. Wish I had more

I panned this in 2012. Tried another. Not good on day one. Too oaky syrupy. Day two it’s showing much better. Will hold my last three for a couple years

Only had one of these, great bottle. Delicious with nice aged, forest floor and other character, but still with richness of fruit.

Great wine for my taste and an interesting personal intro to what aged Chinon can be.

First bottle corked :(

Second bottle - delicious and well liked by others in the group (many asking twice about the wine and how to get some, always fun to get that reaction). Didn't take any notes, but this was drinking very well and has the stuffing to go a number of years.

My last two '04's

This was underwhelming ... agree with the comments below re the oak being too strong still. also overall impression is soft, not much to get excited about. Maybe in a dump phase? but i don't see any structure that is going to be there once the oak integrates.... still have 7 left so we will see

Delicious wine - one of the best pinots i have had. Cheers

I had low expectations given some of the notes here.... but this is actually a nice wine, drinking well. Blackberry fruit with vanilla/oak (though not too heavy). Tannin largely gone.

Delicious. Forest floor, leather and tobacco, fruit, but light on its feet. Surprised given the fill was in the shoulder, but cork was clean at the top. nice to get a good bottle.

Cheers

Disappointing after cellaring since purchase.... smokey oak, vanilla, little bit of fruit. Pales in comparison to the Pianrosso I had a few months ago
