Another brilliant bottle. Well integrated, balanced in perfect condition. Is it worth 100$? But I love it

I love this wine and it is drinking well now. Beautiful uplifted red fruits and menthol without aggressive herbal tones. Long and lush.

Ripe dark friut over a leathery roasted tone, the nose, like the mouth is big and effusive but not particularly compelling. Tannins have melted away and the overall impression is soft and long. Decanted for two hours

Love this. Match stick over hazelnuts over green apple over white flowers. Brisk and structured while also supple and pleasurable in the mouth, it is long and ultimately a success

Back to an earlier note with disjointed mix of alcohol, tropical fruit flavors, good structure and an annoying bitter finish. Not a loser but off the mark

Complex nose of smoke, red fruits, menthol, anise, asphalt, and earth. Immediate sense of flint and steel-opens over time to reveal more flesh but is restrained. Does show a bit of Santa Maria beet/tomato leaf but very much in the background

Really lovely with citrus, green apple and dare I say red fruit notes. Crisp on the entry and finish with a softer mid palate. Fun as an aperitif or with anything.

Falling into its oxidative side, with orchard fruits starting to smell more like musty cider. Still bright and pleasnt in the mouth, the old barrel/winemaking notes detract. Drink up

Hazy deep red with clear edges. Ripe cherry notes over light menthol. Feels midweight with less stuffing than expected. Lightly chewy. Pleasant drink, not profound

A bit dusty, musty on opening but grew into its ripe and lovely self. Dried fruit with firm acid, it feels as its trajectory is pointing down not up.

My least fav of the saxum lineup-certainly beautiful in the glass with dark, dried fruit notes. Not overripe but close. The mouth feel is firm with notable alcohol and nicely matched acidity. Well received but not the luxurious impact of the syrah and grenache dominant blends

Medium gold. Unabashedly oaky, with trooical undertones and a sense of vibrance/freshness in spite of the oak. Creamy entry with an acid lifted midpalate. Finish is hampered by a tannic, sl bitter edge. Overall it is appealing but only if you appreciate the style. Good with braised pork choos in mushroom sauce

A revelation. Medium ruby with only light garnet at the edge. A little dusty Leather speaks of age but ripe currants, plums, berries with mint and forest seems to come from a wine of 10 years, not 26. Balanced, beguiling and forthcoming, it is beautiful, long and satisfying.

? Rich boysenberry under umami, dried shitakes, soy. Round entry, medium alcohol, slightly bitter finish diminishes current enjoyment. Will give a couple years before opening another. Still feels very primary and needs time for all the pieces to meld.

Still gloriously fragrant with yellow apples and orchard aromas, but the rich fruit, with ample acid, is offset by harsh texture in the finish-bitterness. I dont know where this is going

I could have spent the whole night sniffing without drinking. The aromas of fresh apples, with hints of saline steel and flint are beguiling! The wine is still young with rich notes over firmly textured acidity. A beauty but still needs time.

Definitely not ready for prime time. The wine is deep, dark and inky, with beautiful, herbal laced aromatics over deep dark fruit without seeming over ripe cooked or stewed. in the mouth, the flavors are intense and robed in dense tannin and brisk acidity. The finish is long but not necessarily pleasant and speaks to a better life ahead. I will not touch the other bottle for five years. I am a big fan of this winery, but I’m not sure about this bottling.
