10/24/17, 12:38 AM - Hi Seth and thanks for your comment. I do agree that the serving temperature is important, and I try to stay in the lower end (15-17C). Choice of glass is also important, I drank this from the Zalto Burgundy which also should be suitable for Nebbiolo, which I don't think it is. It is just to revealing, and wines that are slightly out of balance are just thrown off the cliff by this glass. Having said that, I do believe that this bottle was somewhat off. On a side note, a ran my Norwegian tasting note through Google Translate and found the English translation to be surprisingly accurate. What a time to be alive :-)

4/8/15, 1:07 PM - Hi Nostrabacchus, thanks for great notes on the Elio Grasso wines. We visited the producer two weeks before you, and were offered tastings of Runcot '08, as well as Casa Mate and Gavarini '11. I totally agree on your notes, and ended up buying two btls each of Runcot and Gavarini. The Runcot will be saved for many years, while I picked Gavarini as I felt it would mature sooner than Casa Mate. A fantastic property!
4/6/15, 1:37 AM - I think it's in a really good spot now. Further aging might bring out some more leather and fleshy notes, but I'm afraid the fruit will suffer. But who knows for sure ;-)
