Reluctantly, it’s probably too early to drink, but noticed enough notes to try. The wine is not hot or overly oaky, but is lacking in structure or complexity. Really disappointing. Seems like a love it or hate it wine. Not scoring.

Forward, easy drinking young Right Banker. Moderate complexity, good for a decent tariff.

3/20/17, 12:56 PM - Not much here that will benefit from age. Probably better to enjoy over the next 5-8 years as more of a daily drinker rather than something that should take up cellar space. Then again you never know.

Very dark in color. Astringent tannins for the first hour. Lush and ripe but not over the top. Never seemed to fully open up. Will wait on the next bottle as I find Myriad Cabs needing a bit more time for my palate. 92-93

12/8/16, 9:23 AM - Unfortunately we got to it quicker than expected. Opened for an hour before drinking over the next 2. Probably needs much more that that. '12 was the first vintage of Myriad Cabs that I purchased, so I figured I would check-in. For my palate, I will hold these a bit longer, but it did improve some in the glass, so a long decant may help.

Clay, red fruit, some complexity and acidity. A bit flat and lacking structure. Drink now and over the next several years.

5/18/16, 7:39 PM - Rajiv, apologies for missing your note. I had heard great things about Musar and have never seen one in a store. In my state, shipping laws are fairly restrictive, so when I saw this on a restaurant wine list, I knew I had to try it. Unfortunately that meant a pop and pour. Would generally have popped, tasted, and let open up over at least 1-3 hours before consuming. A very unique wine and one I would be more than happy trying again.

My first Riverain Cab, brought to Christmas dinner with the "in-laws". Sadly, corked. Thought it was just me at first, then everyone mentioned it tasted "weird". Bummer

Would not suggest drinking this now as expected. Must aerate for at least 3-4 hours in order to see some of the better qualities of this wine. Awesome red ruby color with an incredible shine. Nose evolves but shows fruit, smoke, dark chocolate and floral notes. Quality fruit on the palate and solid finish. Being an '08 Bordeaux, this wine just doesn't have the concentration of higher quality years. Give this at least 5-10 years.

10/5/13, 11:12 AM - I hope so, other '08s I have had seem to be similar. Will follow your advice and hold for quite some time. Stick to the 09s if drinking young Bordeaux.

Almost alarming barnyard for the first 30 min. Classic aged bordeaux notes, but a little too one-note leather/tobacco as others mentioned. Good nose, palate and finish but nothing too great. Drinking well now or keep for another ~5 years

9/28/13, 8:53 AM - Great point, this wine to me was in the 90-92 range. While the individual components of this wine did not stand out on their own, the balance that was formed over 15 years of aging created an overall beautiful Bordeaux. If I had this 10 years ago, I probably would have thought it was thin, tannic and probably in the 89-90 range. Make sure to give this plenty of time I open.
