This was actually a nice surprise. It was somewhat flat directly after opening the bottle but with air this started to open up. Nose of cherry with a bit of barnyard. On the palette it shows a subtle profile of red fruits, spices and well integrated tannins, good harmony and balance. This is the opposite of an in your face, concentrated wine: it shines in being subtle and light on its feet. Performed with similar strut the second day, which I had not expected.

Sweet dark fruits, integrated oak, structured and balanced. Still young and will age beautifully. Excellent.

Unfortunately this bottle was over the hill. Still acceptable though, but with too many port-like properties present making it flat and a bit dull. Drink up if you have remaining bottles in cellar. This needs testing!

Was not performing well this time. Perhaps it's already over the hill or transitioning? it was a bit flat on the aftertaste. The mineral floral finish this wine showed before was almost completely absent.

This is still in need for tons and tons of air.. decanting for a couple of hours is a good idea. But then it finally opened up and shows beautiful elegance.

This has become such a beautifully matured wine. Color is a vibrant deep ruby. Red/black forrest fruits on the nose, mingled with some vanilla, dark chocolate and sweet spices, cloves. The palette is sweet fruit galore with enough acidity to keep things in check. Well integrated oak and tannins, delivering a lingering creamy and slightly spicy aftertaste. Love this. (94+)

This has improved considerably since my last tasting. Some barnyard on the nose when I opened the bottle and poured a glass but it dissipated to the background with air, making room for soft red fruits and spices. Gentle and quite silky on the palette, nice cherry fruit and just enough acidity to give it uplift and freshness. Soft tannins. Perhaps I would like a bit more complexity and some more depth in the mid palette and aftertaste but this is very enjoyable and I would buy again without a doubt.

It surprised me how fresh this still is! Youth is often wasted on the young but this wine managed to consciously show off with it at an age I would not have expected. It opens up considerably with air revealing a fresh fruity nose with notes of vanilla. The palette is rich, fruity and quite lengthy with grippy but ripe tannins. This wine remains one of the best values from Spain and it’s one of the best Aalto vintages I have ever tasted. 94+

This was my last bottle and its time to drink! Should you still have some left in your cellar: drink up!
It aged nicely, the fruit has mellowed out and so have the acidity and tannins resulting in a straightforward wine, but light on pallet and lacking persistence. If memory serves well this has seen better days.

Some of these bottles are maturing faster than others. This was more mature and should be drunk asap. Others I had were in more prestine state

All good things come to those who wait! I am quite impressed with how this wine has aged. I had 6 bottles and drank 5 since and I believe this last sixth bottle is the best I have had so far. Halfway through the bottle this began to shine. So decant it! On the nose this shows dark fruit, smoke and minerals with a hint of oak and vanilla. On the palette a concentrated fruit profile with delicious dusty tannins and good balance. Towards the end it shows remarkable complexity and lingering mineralité. Its quite a modern palette and it shows less of the rustiness of a typical Cornas. Honestly I should have bought 12. What a nice QPR!

Nose of dark forrest fruit, cassis and a touch of vanilla, pepper and spice. Nice palette of intens fruit, ripe but still somewhat grippy tannins and an acidic backbone that persists through the long aftertaste. The fruit and acidity play so nicely together now that I am not sure how this is going to improve if you wait.

Still alive and kicking and aged gracefully from a more bombastic fruit forward wine into a softer fruit profile kept in balance with fine grained tannins and acidity. Good qpr.

Excellent QPR. This has evolved from a young fruity playful Chablis into a more serious version of itself. Generous sweet citrus nose. The palette is equally rich with lemon notes and a sharp lineair line of acidity so identifiable with Chablis.

Not as good as the 2010 but it has mellowed out quite a bit since the last time I tasted it. Much more balanced now that acidity is reduced. Nice!

Magnum - wow this is excellent stuff. Has the Hébrart signature of being fruity but so much more complex and intense being a special club. Excellent combo with Sushi.

Decanted for 6 hours. This is an absolute beauty. Pure and intens nose, nothing out of place, same holds for the palette. It shows an impeccable balance and purity that knocks your socks off. Though it's young this is drinking well now if given the time to breath in a decanter, so much so that is tempting not to wait much longer to open my others bottles as well.

This has improved very well since about a year ago. Love the barnyard cherry 🐖🍒 smell on this😜. Palette is pure, medium bodied with mellow integrated tannins. Almost velvet. Also gained in complexity since last tasting. Really like this bottle. Definitly 93+.

This is simply fantastic at this stage. Lychee and pine apple on the nose. Incredibly fresh and vibrant on the palette. Tropical fruits with a lingering ceste of lemon as aftertaste. This went through a little dormant phase a while back but only to emerge with much more complexity and pleasure.

Excellently matured Syrah. Barnyard and blood on the nose on opening which gave way to nice bright fruity notes as well with air. Nice persistent aftertaste with smooth dissolved tannins and very nicely balance. Simply exquisite.

This has not aged very well. Where this was incredible sexy a few years ago it has now become just another descent bottle. The fruit is still there, albeit less and the wine’s acidity is coming more to the foreground. It improves somewhat with air, becoming a bit more grenache sensual. I drank this over two days and must say it held its own after the course of these two days.

At this stage this is obviously still young. However it has a beautiful nose and pure fruit, it is smooth with already soft and integrated tannins. Good balance. Compared to the 2016 this seems less voluptuous and somewhat more restraint ( have not compared side by side) and I am not sure which I prefer, I tend to go for 2016. Having said that this is still an excellent bottle of wine.

There is some bottle variation on my batch of bottles. Some of these have evolved already a bit too far others like this one perform excellently. Fresh and vibrant. Nice fruity nose. Soft integrated tannins. Nice length.

I have had an off bottle a few years ago of this vintage. But this one performs excellent! Dark Ruby colors. Intens nose of cherries, prune, herbs and spices. Fruity on the palette with nice balance, and round mellow tannins. This is very satisfying.
