Last minute purchase for New Year's eve celebration - decided to go with Bollinger - in memory of Sean Connery - Bollinger was the champagne of James Bond....we have at midnight - with caviar and italian cream cheese - and some of us had to have pickled herring as well (a new year's eve tradition) - the champagne went down gracefully - we cheered, toasted, sipped and smiled , and wished for a better 2021...we can make that happen....

This was delight a delight to drink - a touch of sweetness - nice bubbles - and paired with PEKING DUCK!!! New Years Eve Dinner - with surprise guests - we picked a fine burgundy for the duck - but the last minute guests made us go with the festive bubbly - and it worked out just great !!!!! always have sparkling wine ready in the cooler - not just for New year's

a decent wine to drink - Hess was one of our go to wines if u need something good and fast.. so we paired this with a made from scratch comfort meal: cranberry beans - soaked overnight and pork in bon butt sliced into 1 inch cubes..the sauce included tomato paste, molasses and red wine vinegar....it took hours to prepare and cook - and we served mashed potatoes and coleslaw on the side - also made from scratch...needless to say we felt underwhelmed by the wine....maybe zinfandel or an amarone would have been better....or a good merlot or cabernet franc...anyway - the pork and beans are gone...some of the wine still remains.... i know we really enjoyed this wine in previous years....

elegant dry riesling with a taste of sweet apples; very well balanced and a pleasure to drink; discovered on site at the winery - this is worth a trip back just to enjoy the scenery, and the wines; The "s" is very versatile and will go with many different combinations of food; the wine is also very approachable regardless of one's preferences...its just enjoyable.... so if you can find it - pick some up - its a great taste and you will not be disappointed!!

light to medium body - soft and elegant - we all loved it and it was a perfect pairing for the turkey and all its trimmings....this burgundy complimented the festive presentation on the table...it did not compete for attention...it made the Thanksgiving celebration complete without overwhelming it.... we just purchased the 2018...and will wait ...for the next appropriate occasion... but will give it an 10 to 15 year wait....just like its predecessor...

we thought this will be worth the price we paid for it - $94 and rate it a 94...well its not...it is a good fruity pinot noir - but the Bella Glos - Clark and Tele is better and half the price....the Hobbs was served with a pasta dinner and paired well with the sauce and salads....so a very good combination .... but a 92 may be stretching it....

its why we drink French wines - taste the wine made from the fruit - and not wine masked by layers of fruit....

excellent pairing with bone-in steak - the wine had soft tannins and even with 14% alch it was mild and very good and a pleasure to sip and enjoy. We nursed the steak - which was marinated for six hours prior to grilling it in a skillet on a gas oven - in order to enjoy the wine longer; - and we nursed the Bordeaux in order to enjoy the medium done steaks!!!...a perfectly paired combination led us to smile and fully appreciate the simple pleasures of life - especially in these trying times...

this Margaux is drinking very well now - why wait.....

cannot have enough of this wine - served with a a meatloaf - and the garl;ic and the richness of all the flavors in the meat may have overwhelmed the wine a bit - ended aup enjoying the wine after dinner - need to reassess a pairing with a turkey and beef meatloaf with all the seasoning, herbs, egg and bread crumbs that go into producing this most wonderful , moist comfort food - a syrah maybe; a cabernet fran? defintely not a cabernet sauvignon - or maybe a rich earthy french burgundy....nothing like exploring and mixing and remembering and enjoying the good stuff!!!!!!

Excellent wine that is drinking very well now. Served on Father's Day, it was medium Bodied, with soft tannins and no fruit bombs in site and a 14.6 alc%. It had an understated fruitiness that is different from other Caymus Cabernets and vintages; It has mellowed since we last had a bottle five years ago. Everyone who had a sip enjoyed it thoroughly. So, it was paired with Wagu steak which was thinly sliced and prepared to perfection. The Wagu steak melted like butter and had exceptional taste, flavor and texture. In my opinion, I would have paired the Wagu with a good Burgundy or a very good Pinot Noir from California. But the Caymus did come through and dinner, with all its accoutrements, was DIVINE!!!!

While certainly drinkable and exhibiting much of harshness or anything else for that matter - this wine tasted watery and diluted and without much semblance of taste...did not meet the challenge of being paired with a juicy marinated pork loin chop....so we will go back to steak and good California cabernet sauvignons next week....tired of striking out and saving the good stuff for special occasions.... these days every day is special.....

excellent California Cabernet Sauvignon - we kept sipping it while nibbling on Sartori herbs de Provence Bella Vitano Cheese - a sharp flavor that went so well with the wine - so we only had a glass left for the main course - an Ina Garten recipe for MEAT LOAF!!! - what a pairing....!!!!! a great California Cab that is not fruity with fantastic comfort food - and of course it always the sauce - which we improvised and used from another recipe....

this is a good wine - its just that it did NOT meet our expectations when we paired it with spaghetti Bolognese; the Bolognese was made from scratch and cooked in a slow cooker for seven hours!!! -it was delectably sublime - what a flavor - what a dish!!! - while the wine was a bit astringent and underwhelming... the sangiovese grape is a very good pairing with this recipe - and we thought this Brunello will be a great match....it was not... the Bolognese is divine....
