From memory. Small bubbles, lovely mousse, velvety texture. Mostly on furniture, citrus and a deep creaminess. Not very leesy, if that's the kind of thing you like, but this is all pleasure.

From memory. This was a pleasant, correct Chard with viscosity, a lemon cream character and an herbaceous accent. 4

What a clearly delineated wine. There was citrus, pith, frosting, autumn blooms and herbs.

This wine is definitely not open yet. Needs at least a few years to put on weight. NR

Light, complex nose with herbs and flowers layered over berry skins. Crème de cassis, violet candies, vanilla bean, fleshy plums. Moderate power with a bright, medium-length finish and velvety tannins.

Right out of the bottle, I didn’t know what to think, as it was very shy. It’s nose developed over about 30 minutes. 4

After a bit of air, this really blooms with roses, lingonberries, Meyer lemon and powdered chocolate. A very nice Tuscan that should evolve a bit more in the short term. 4+

Excellent beading and mousse. Glazed doughnuts, fougère, lemon meringue. There is a sensation of sweetness here that manages not to be at all cloying. I assume this will open up with time in the cellar. 4+

The bottle and cork were perfect. The wine showed no signs of age at all.

It took 15 minutes of air to open up.

Berry candies, violets, dusty road, new pool table. Currant preserves and a wisp of smoke. It has a marked sensation of sweetness and a lot of personality. After an hour or so, cocoa powder and crushed mint. It's all very balanced and complex.

It is hard to describe, but these “neoclassical” California wines have a unique terroir. I recognize that the wines of Bordeaux may have a greater sense of place in terms of magnitude, but my pride in my home state draws me to these wines. 4

Flowers and buttered toast with marmalade on the nose. Mineral-driven palate with concentrated white and citrus fruits and a gentle, dynamic finish. Pretty much everything I look for in a white burg.

Fresh crushed bramble fruit, a large dose of aromatic citrus and sous bois bouquet (akin to chypre), roastiness and minerality, good tannic strength.

This wine is not ready to drink yet, but it has evolved with power, complexity and balance thus far. I am always nervous about getting back vintages, but this lot appears to have been well kept. 5+
