Not the strongest nose - but still a great wine - our first 2008 - the fruit is a lot of cherries and cranberries - also hints of orange peels. We are getting a lot of leather, menthol and some licorice. A very nice long aftertaste - medium+ tannins and medium acidity - but both are well integrated. This is a well made wine - the wine is drinking well but still some years to come - we will start with 94. (0 views)

When the wine was opened - we were very impressed the was a very expressive nose with a lot of fruit - cherries, cranberries, red currant and some forrest floor - also a very expressive long aftertaste - but the wine faded out and we did not get the same palette and nose - we are getting medium tannins and acidity which is well integrated - but in the beginning this balance really impressed us - now we are sitting whit a more flat experience - we are ending up at 91 -but two hours ago we would have been clearly higher.

We had great expectation - but was disappointed - the bottle was probably slightly corked - which affected the fruit profile of the wine. We got some sour cherries and cranberries - but not more - the wine has a great aftertaste - also hints of tobacco - because of the lacking fruit profile - we end up at 90 - I know from the past that this is a great wine - so is looking forward to the next .

A classic riesling nose - because of the age the color is more golden - you can fell the age - we are getting toasted caramel, a lot og grape and also some citrus - acidity is well integrated - still medium plus - and good long aftertaste - but not a complex wine - the wine is still drinking well - we se a drinking window the next 3-5 years. We will give a solid 91.

Not a very complex wine but still very well made - it is fresh and light you get lots of fruit - it is cherries and cranberries - you also get some earthiness - a well balanced wine that deserves solid 90.

We experienced a very pronounced bitterness on the palette towards the end - something we liked - we good sour cherries, cranberries, rose petals and camphor - we are also getting some forrest floor - the wine has a great balance everything is well integrated but both tannins and acidity are still medium +. The wine is in its drinking window but will still develop further - we like the wine and are increasing our rating to 92.

I served it as a blind tasting rather late - it is a well balanced barolo with a good balance - for me the wine is still young I do like it but will start with 91 more to come no doubt about that.

A great experience - we opened an decanted the wine 5 hours before drinking - you do not think this wine is 28 years old - here I am have to mention that it is a magnum - you get freshness and good acidity and some tannins - but both are well integrated the wine has a great balance - and a got long aftertaste - the wine gives you lots of complexity - we are getting coffee - and chocolate also some tobacco. The fruit is cherries, cranberries, plums and some black berries - I like the wine and think it will be great for some years to come - I think 95 is a fair rating. Just sorry it is my last magnum 1996.

My first experience with this producer - a present - and a very good experience - we had the wine on a Nebiolo night - where we tasted 2013-2014-2015 from different producers - I really like this one you get mature cherries and forrest strawberries. You also get menthol and hints of vanilla - a well balanced wine - tannins and acidity are both medium plus but very well integrated - and the wine has a niche balance - I am also getting leather - the wine has a long pleasant aftertaste - will give very solid 93 - sorry I only have this bottle.

Open and decanted before drinking - we only gave it 1 1/2 hours in the decanter - would recommend at least three hours. On the nose you are getting both cherries and cranberries - on the palette you are still getting the two mentioned fruits and hints of prunes - we are also getting menthol - we are also getting leather - tannins and acidity are both medium plus - acidity a bit more dominating - but a very well balanced wine with a good long aftertaste. This is our first bottle and we will give a solid 93 - with a clear expectation of more to come.

Not the experience we had expected from a top producer in a good year. The wine was decanted 5 hours before drinking. You get a bit of cherries in the nose - the palette gives you more mature cherries, some plum fruit, a lot of spices and clearly leather. Medium+ acidity and tannins - tannins a bit dominating - still and okay balance. Not a long aftertaste. This is clearly a masculine powerful wine but I had expected more - can only end on 91. I still have one bottle left hope that will be better.

Was a bit closed in the beginning - but after decanting the wine opend up quilte nicely - we liked the wine - the fruit is cherries - plums -blackberries - also some menthol. The wine is still medium + on tannins but well integrated - this is a Nice Wine that deserves solid 93.
