Classic cold climate Chardonnay. Pear and Pineapple dominate. Slightly oaked. Would drink by the case if budget allowed

Slightly sweet, melon, pear, low acidity very balanced. Almost like a cross between a Marlborough and Napa SB. Very interesting blend. Drinks like an unoaked Chardonnay or a nice round Chenin Blanc or even a Chablis.

Very soft. Tannins are slowly calming down. Becoming more like a Claret. Will be fun to watch as the wine evolves Oak is much less pronounced. Did not open as the past few bottles have.

Young and brash. Pepper and oak dominate. Dries out quickly from the onslaught of fruit.

Lived well and prospered. A delightful find in the cellar. Opened up nicely, smooth and supple. Light leather

Wine held up for 32 years. Opened nicely, worth the wait. classic Alexander Valley Estate Cab

Opened up slowly. Timid quiet undertones of chocolate and raspberries quietly moved to a classic symphonic ending with berries and plums leading the way. Exactly what I expect from Pinot Noir, kisses of flavors but none overwhelming. This is a wine that drinks like a Pinot, not like a Cab. Worth every penny

Charcoal,& Cola syrup dominate the flavor palate. Closer to a barrel sample than a finished wine. Smoothed out over an hours time. There was a small amount of sediment on the cork. Possibly unfiltered. The wine coated the glass with a deep red film. Typical of younger wines. Lots of jagged edges in the taste. Lacking smoothness. Very short finish.
3 years of aging may help. Decanting and aerating may also help.

3 hours after decanting, the Jordan '78 started to show its muscle. Deep ruby color, blackberry and slight cherry supported the classic Sonoma dryness of the middle year of the drought of 77-79 vintages. Rich mouth feel, coupled with balanced acidity made each sip a joy. If you have some left in your cellar, I would not wait much longer. My last bottle was worth the wait.

Sign me up for their wine club. What a joyous wine to consume. If you want to relive the thrill of tasting a glorious Cab while standing at the tasting table at the winery, this is the one to drink. Brought me back to the days of BV private Reserve in the late 70's. Soaring tannins, heady fruits and dry to the bone. What Napa Cabs were when you could afford them. Those days are gone. But this wine brings me back.

the 78 has changed over the years of the 5 cases I bought only 5 bottles remain. Its time to drink them all. Color is wonderful, very tart even after decanting. The opulence has faded to a true claret. The Rutherford Dust lingers though not a pronounced as it once was. Leather, tobacco and slight cedar notes are still lingering. Sadly, this wine has peaked and fallen. We will try the rest this week.

A bit confusing wine. It claims to be a Pinot, but has character like a Sangiovese. Spicy and acidic. Searched for the classic chocolate and softness, and none was to be found. This wine may have to age out a bit to see where it will land. So far, OK

Just what you would expect from a 2007 Cab from Sliverado Trail. Big fruit, nicely oaked and blended. Soft tannins and deep ruby red in color.

A little more delicate than I anticipated. The wine is really closed and needs more aging. It is hard to believe a 6 y/o wine could be in a dumb stage. With 11 bottles to go, let the journey begin.
Nicely balanced. Green pepper and Black Olive are heavy on the nose and carry through the taste. Not sure it will age well.

Supple, soft and balanced. Wonderful mouth feel. Oaking regiment seems to be perfect. Straight forward flavors, consistent throughout. Lingering peppery spice.
