A superb Chardonnay now that will definitely improve with age. Pretty restrained nose of smoke and citrus, grapefruit. On the palate, floral, pithy grapefruit and pomelo. Quite a bit of oak here but well integrated. Not even a hint of popcorn.

Day 2: all of the above but better. Oaks features a little less.

A great value sparkler and easy enough to please a crowd. Very pale in colour. Peachy notes of muscat on the nose. Very fine mousse. Palate is like a fine peach cider (in a good way) with slightly bitter and cosmetic notes lingering. Well done.

I look forward to trying this again but today, it’s over the top and unbalanced. Too rich. Not enough acid to balance. Drink ice cold.

Notes of lychee and honey. Very pretty.

No formal notes but very very nice. Lightly oaked. Medium bodied. Will buy more and age a few. Great value.

Opened the first bottle last spring. It was so awful, I didn’t write a note. Notes of cotton candy overwhelmed everything else.

I’ve always been a fan of this wine but there does seem to be bottle variation.

Second bottle: stained cork. But more typical Blue Mtn PN notes on the nose. Cherry cola candies.

On the palate, very very fine tannin, cherry cola and powdered sugar and the typical Blue Mtn oak flavours that I can’t quite describe. Long bright finish. Very nice but not as good as I’ve had from them.

Expressive nose with shortbread, citrus, flowers, and something a little strange (but not in a bad way). Youthful, lively palate. More brioche than cookie.

From Coravin: Still more tannin that wine. Hints of cherry and dusty oak. Needs more time or an all day decant.
Red
From Coravin: Surprisingly approachable. Dark fruit, and fine tannins. Mineral and licorice.

From coravin: Tightly wound but rich. Lots of acid. Lots of tannin. Gonna be brilliant in a couple years.

Top notch chardonnay. Pretty nose of lanolin and citrus. Lush month feel, great balance, Still not expressing the fruit on the palate. Hold for 3-5 years.

Read the reviews first. Always a mistake. You guys are a tough crowd. This is a lovely if restrained wine. Reserved, slightly dusty nose. Subtle fruit flavours with a hint of stem or bell pepper that becomes more pronounced if you slurp. Not a wine to analyze. It is better than the sum of its parts. Put on some quiet jazz and enjoy.

Tannins are light but good acid. Worth cellaring if only out of curiosity.

Who would give this a score below 90. This is a fantastic wine. Even better for the price. Sauternes at its best value.

I'm giving it 92 based on what I think is in there. We didn't decant and that was a mistake. Very enjoyable but coconut notes almost overwhelmed the fruit.

This is a big wine; a real tooth stainer. But it's not a fruit bomb by any means. The flavour profile is nicely restrained with lots of bramble and spice. We didn't decant but noted that the wine opened up in the first 15-20 minutes, then started to close down. If I see another bottle, I'd want to decant over an afternoon. Worth another bottle for sure.

Surprisingly good. I saying surprisingly because I find Viognier to be a crap shoot for my tastes. Often I find a bitterness that I don't enjoy. This is reminiscent of a good Yalumba if a little less bold.

Looking at the other 3 reviews, I feel like I have a different wine. This vintage is over the top sweet, without the level of acidity to balance. Not my thing. Better ide cold.

Very nice but started out a little aren’t. Better on Day 2. Much better. Definitely a similar profile to a Clos Apalta. But not in the same league. Highly drinkable!!!

Popped and poured just to see what was going on. The 2014 was so approachable out of the bottle. The 2015 is wound tight. Two hours of decanting only increased the acids. There’s a great wine in there but finding it will take patience (which I don’t have). Will try the all day decant next time.

If super-burgundian was a thing, this would be it. A big wine yet elegant enough to drink without food. An absolutely beautiful nose.

Drinking well. Nicely integrated primary Cab notes. Muted nose. Very fine tannins. Not sure how much like is left. Don’t think I’d wait to find out. Very well paired with ribeye.

Well integrated at this point and drinking beautifully. I called Petite Verdot notes (even tho there isn’t any in this blend. Inky, sweet, lifted aromas. Dark berries and violets. Palate of fine tannins, classic Bordeaux notes of Cab Franc and Merlot. Long finish.

Better with decanting. Showed it’s best with red meat.

Very nice. In a French style. Starts out restrained with hints of old French oak. Quickly opens up to become richer with a citrus open and a honeydew finish.

First taste before decanting: Aussie Cab. Earthy, olive, eucalyptus.

2 hours of decanting didn’t reveal a lot more. Really nice wine but hoped for more.

Fantastic. Pop and pour. Started out surprisingly restrained with a hint of bitterness. A bit of salty food revealed cassis, metallic notes, and meat. Continued to develop over 2 hours. Beautiful nose. This well stored bottle did not hint at its age. Lots of life left.

Should have decanted the sediment.

2 hours later: same.

Great value in Bordeaux. Opens with classic Cab Franc notes then becomes darker and almost meaty. Great to drink as a pop and pour but as it took on some air it needed food. Still, lots going on. Age worthy too.

This is a great wine. Ignore all reviews that say otherwise. Yum. Surprisingly light for a Rioja. And beautifully floral. But still has those cigar box, pencil shaving notes too. Lots of blackberries at first. Bit of barnyard. And grapes. Hint of spice on the finish. Gorgeous balance. Subtle. Light light tannin. Drink with or without food. Or cellar.

Rich and expressive wine in a crowd pleaser style. But a bit out of balance. Not big and over extracted. But missing tannin to hold up an otherwise great wine. Even served cool it came across as a bit flabby.

Oh. And the price.

Haven’t tasted this in over a year as the last bottle was “weird”. Happy to proclaim, this is a fantastic wine, especially at the price point. Honeyed melon and dust on the nose with a hint of green. Very rich palate without being flabby. Round and nicely balanced with good acidity and tartness. Raw rhubarb, melon, lemon. And yup a little sherry on the finish.

Oh my. It’s elementary school in a glass. Varnish, graphite, and pink eraser. That’s the nose. The palate is insanely rich and spicy. Delicious. But Cabernet grapes? Huh. Petit Verdot over the top. But only 6%. Huh. Anyway. Yum. But big. REALLY big.

Well. Wow. As different a champagne as I’ve had. Still youthful. On the nose, hmmm. Almost indescribable. Toasted something and clover. Sweet. A very very rich palate. Lots of mousse. Notes on honey then hazelnut then salty water taffy and caramel. Would go well with food.

Pop and pour: smokey, oaky nose with floral notes. On the palate, medium body and acid, fine tannin. Lots of flavour; herbs, dirt, berries, with iron on the finish. Tannins are firmer in the finish. Almost like a big Tempranillo.

Obviously some bottle variation. Compared to the previous note by Cooper, the wine I tasted as definitely lacking. Muted nose of tomato leaf and spice. Very little fruit on the palate. Elegant but not much going on. 12% abv. I miss that.

Tasted blind. Absolutely no idea what this was. Light red in the glass but with a nose that suggested a white grape. Can’t even describe , except oranges. Light bodied, nice balance. Pretty and bright on the mouth. Weird. And yummy.

Tasted blind (after lots of bourbon). Very enjoyable wine if really big and tannic. The Tempranillo give the spicy pencil lead notes to a plummy Napa cab. Needs food. Fatty food.

A favourite white for the price, vintage after vintage. Citrus and brioche, caramel notes on the nose. Something floral and maybe even papaya. Lemon, lime and peach on the palate with a rich oaky mid palate and a bright finish.

Lots and lot of mousse. Citrus and biscuit on the palate at first changing to a more earthy note as it developed. Bit of spice on the finish. Lots of acid but the flavours weren’t as “bright” as I like in a rosé champagne. My wife liked it more than I did. Good value.
