last one of my 4 cases. Just as good as the first, and amazing at the price. Not a bad cork in any of them. Drink up now though!

Drunk relative pulled the wrong bottle. I need him to go downstairs more often. strawberry, succulent, long finish. Just sent him down for a second bottle. Excellent.

Drinking wonderfully. Won't get any better, too bad my last bottle.

Way much better than my last note in 07. Wonderful nose, bacon fat, bright cherry fruit, wonderful structure and still young with robust tannins. Well matched to a 02 Foley Claret.

Very good to excellent, no need to wait anymore on this one. Decanted 1 hour. Lots of cherry flavors,, with a hint of cedar on the palate.

Not nearly as good as the one I popped last year which was in the 94 range...Starting to fade?

Decanted 4 hours. I second drwine2001. Virtually undrinkable because of the overpowering alcohol. Left in decanter, and greatly improved after 3 days. Don't touch for a few years.

Decanted for 2 hours. Still a lot of spice, and some wonderful red fruit. A winner.

A disappointment...felt the alchohol at the back of the mouth. An earthy tone, not any disernable fruit.

A balanced chardonnay that offers some oak and butter, but also wonderful pear and apricot flavors.

Opened and drank without decanting. A dark, fruity cab, which was tasting almost sweet.

Decanted for 3 hours before dinner. We paired it with lamb, and did a wine tasting against a 2000 Chateau La Mission, which retails for considerably less. Our guests preferred the bordeaux over Quintessa. I really expected more from this wine. We've tried Quintessa 2002 now over the last few years, and it just doesn't impress me for the money.

It is way too early to drink this one. Tannins are very strong on the open. Decanted for 3 hours, stilll not enjoyable. Tried it again over 3 days, and it got better, but it needs some serious cellaring.

Not nearly as good as the 2/19/07 bottle. Lots of alcohol bite on the palate. Cork was stained almost to the top (about to become a leaker??)

I really like this wine when I want a little extra "oomph". The zin blend tones down the alchohol effect. It is perfect for a casual dinner, such as shish kebab.

Lots of pepper and cherry here...Bit of an alchohol aftertaste, not quite integrated...Not as good as the 05. Perhaps popped to early?

Very dark color (what you would expect with the name of "Onyx"). Nose is very fragrant with dark fruit. Tannins are strong - needs to age a bit.

This is going to be an amazing bottle in a few years...unfortunately, at the moment it is closed and tight on opening. After having been opened 2 hours, it finally had a nose of black fruit and vanilla. It is an extremely dark wine, thick on the palate. It has a short, tannic finish.

Exquisite color, medium-bodied wine. The nose is lovely with raspberries. Dark fruit taste, and balanced. A classic Pinot.

This wine is what I call a crowd pleaser - drinkable from the moment you open the bottle. However, there are no layers of complexity, it just kind of ends on a cold note.
