As my CT-winefriend from Madrid Harley1199 posted: maldita Cuarentena!
So myself is opening some too young bottles during these times. In normal periods would have let this bottle sleep longer in the cellar!

So pnp in the afternoon on our sunny terrace, initially a strong, but fine nose from the spontaneous fermentation, I do like that, with some aeration this blows off a little, zesty aromas, ocean salt winds, the palate ultrapuristic, razorsharp shark teeth minerality, salty like salt marshes, clean and full of energy, taut indicated grapefruit fruit in the background, long+, demanding and very convincing aftertaste, again a great showing from Bockenau, if you got some more bottle of this vintage and you like this style, just try and enjoy one like me today! Easily going strong for the next decade(++), highly recommended! *(****), 96-98(+) potential

One of the VDP- estates with a very good reputation since foundation, then decline and an increasing quality since the change of the owner some years ago,
great Ortswein (village), a Riesling to chew on, juicy fresh stonefruit, lively acid bite, therefore puristic, bone dry, all this well structured so you are forced to pour a next glass, light- to midbodied, good lingering finish, great QPR, so unscrew and enjoy!, **(-***), around 88,89

Pnp this right into our glasses, the spring, the sun, this awesome smell, meat, no meaty like being in the slaughterhouse with all the fresh beef halfs, earthy, on the palate this really refreshing fruit, cherry, cassis, ripe tannin, and overall this great finesse, multilayered, needs time, a lot of time, lets see how this bottle evolves over night......, great potential so far, *(***-*****), 93-95(+) potential
Update 24 hours later, half bottle left, still very meaty on the nose, but now a strong fresh fragrance of cherry- and damson fruit (not plums, the freshness is the main difference!), quiet more accessible by the long slow ox in the bottle, delicate fruit again, taut, and on the other hand this velvety dance over the midpalate, what I do like best is the freshness of this whole appearance, 13,5% alcohol but you can not taste or feel this, light as a feather with a very convincing long aftertaste, nothing more to add! Same rating! Seek out for!

An afternoon on the terraces, high ABV 13,5% for a dry Riesling, caramel, silky and creamy ripe stonefruit flow, right after pnp a little unbalanced, but with some slow ox a well structured showing, a little too much alcohol driven if getting warm in the glass, keep this wine cool and you get a good+ mouthfull of mature Riesling! **-***, around 88-90

One bottle bought at Haro four years ago, labeled as crianza Rioja Bekana, do not know if there is a difference to the "normal" Alberdi, what I do know, Alberdi in Spain is normally sold as a crianza, the whole style is like that,
typical LRA aromas on the nose, tobacco, forest floor, stable, some dark fruit in the background, really open now, silky and tasty, low acid for LRA comparatively, integrated tannin, lovely flow over the palate, for me on top now, needs no decant, just enjoy, not that complex but clearly recognizeable as a LRA bottle! enjoy now! **-***, around 87-89+, depends on your preferences, as very I do like this style tonight i score a 90 subjektively!

Pnp this recently delivered first bottle of a case, like to know how unapprochable this bottle is today,
spicy nose, peppery, red fresh fruit, starting with biting, a little harsh tannin, only half an hour later the tannin is still firm but supporting the outstanding fresh mouthfeel, all kinds of cherry fruit, sour and bird cherry, the fruit very dense, spicy mineralic with earthy hints from the soil, meaty like unfryed beef goulash, very elegant long finish, this bottle and wine is still a baby, but you can feel the coming greatness on the palate, hold for a decade(+), or if you keep a case try a bottle every second(+) year, *(***-?), 91,92(+) potential
Update 24 hours later: still going strong, nothing has changed, I would assume that this bottle is more austere at this moment, really for the long haul!
Update 48 hours later: last fifth of this bottle, still this very lively acid, really fresh red fruit driven mouthfeel, better try again in a decade!

Third great bottle of this weekend, you never know, so try the bottles you are curious to try.
We pair this bottle with selfmade Pizza, vegetable and meat style, nose of just harvested cuban tobacco, forest floor, dark cassis, right from the start a really silky flow, showing tobacco, stable aromas, cassis, plums and forest strawberry flavours, great finesse and structure, I have to admit, did not expect this one this balanced and delicate that young, but the pronounced ripe tannin reminds me that this one is for the long haul again, is 2010 this great in most mayor red zones of europe?
Very hard to not empty this bottle quickly, again highly recommended! Can be enjoyed from now on with a decent decant and over the next two(+) decades! **(**-*****), around 93,94(+) potential
Update for the last fifth of this bottle 48 hours later: still going strong, no tertiar aromas, but delicious juicy fruit, will hopefully age fantastically!

Bought this bottle yesterday, curious to know if there is something new to spot on the LRA horizon, as you might have read I am among the critics of the for me "new" or lets say "everybodys darling" style from Rioja.
Since the 2001 vintage I found most of the filled bottles from LRA too less Rioja origin style, which means not really made for the long haul, low ABV, very elegant without much weight, and for a long life ahead if young with a demanding acidity, we or better I cannot escape the fact that most of the LRA Gran Reservas y Reservas come along with a juicy fullbodied fruit to impress young since 2001,
after this introduction of my thoughts lets pnp!
Initially this shows a strong note of licorice and tar, but in a very good way, on the palate licorice again, the american oak with nutty, earthy and smoky aromas, fresh, no....., lets say lively fruit on the midpalate, more red fruit driven at the moment, the again 13,5% alcohol is very well covered and balanced by the enormous pronounced acid, mouthfilling after swallowing, ripe tannin, this wine is a baby so far but that delicious tonight, cause in this case the bodega has found the right proportions between drinkability young and if you like, to cellar this one easily two decades(+), since the 2001 vintage the first really great showing in my honest opinion, highly recommended! **(* *-*****), 93-96(+) potential in a decade+!

And I forgot to post something about the incredible QPR, this is one of the blue chips from the whole wine world, you can buy this for around 35-40€, dollars, pounds etc, you get an extraordinary quality and for me the best argument, you are free to enjoy this bottling during the next decades, so there are many reasons to purchase at least one whole case.

Update 24 hours later: nothing has changed essentially, refined showing with great elegance, fresh fruit and this vibrant mouthwatering acidity!

Pnp this bottle without any decant tonight, even young I always want to find all steps of development, bottle number 963, do not know the whole number of bottles filled, but this low number indicates a certain low amount only, a stunning fragrance on the nose, spicy minerality, herbal start on the palate, great freshness and an extraordinary structure that young, there is nothing there but finesse and harmony, the herbal tone is changing with a short decant to a fresh red and black fruit driven appearance, really elegant, tight and delicate flow, very lingering finish with ripe but noticeable tannin, surprisingly that tasty during its childhood, for the next decade(+) for sure, **(**-*****), around 93, 94(+) potential
Update 24 hours later: still very fresh and refined, lots of delicate cassis, will mature very well!

Pnp this bottle right after getting home, paired this one with pasta and sauce siciliana, purchased in a big italian retailer today, subdued showing at first, some fresh fruit on the nose, smoke, on the palate great freshness of fruit again, sour cherry, dark fruit, violets, earthy, midbodied, in the shop labeled with a high class certificate of excellence, for me this is a very good Chianti, but nothing more than this, I do like the indicated mineralic freshness and the integrated acid, good long finish, drink the next five years(+), **(-***-?), around 87,88(+)

Starting the spring on the sunny terrace with a great sparkler, lots of fine bubbles, very finesse like showing right from the start, some tropical fruit like apricot, but more aromas of creamy brown butter, warm bread, almonds and more nuts, caramel, very intense but very elegant flow beautifully balanced on the midpalate, lingering finish, enjoyed over the whole afternoon, does not change at all in the glass, so I guess this vintage will mature well over the next decade(+), ***(*-*****), around 92-94(+)

Without hesitation decide to pnp this bottle now, I know it is a maybe too young bottle, but you never know, read about a (little) change of style, more oak treatment, maybe more concentration, therefore a higher alcoholic grade,
a very tasty fragrance initially, dark cherry, a whiff of tar, latin coffee beans, ripe juicy dark fruit, on the palate silky, no.... very silky, somewhat like a high class crowd pleaser, ripe plums, coffee, mocha, cuban tobacco, brambleberry, all this with an elegant flow over the midpalate, some mineralic freshness in the background, no real edges at the moment, but for me in a positive way, the tannin ripe, the 14% ABV are well integrated, very good lenght, very easy drinking bottle, how will this age? The background acid shows that there will be much life ahead, but maybe an earlier decline than in the better ante 200? vintages, for now this is an everybodies darling young high class Valbuena, but again, in a positive way, and the price tag? It is paid, worldwide! :) 93 for tonight, I am in the mood to be pampered by this bottle......., **(*-*-?)

Again a very rich in sweet fruit and fullbodied, high alcoholic (13,5%) showing, had two glasses on different occasions the last year, no formal notes, but was not really convinced, a little flabby on the palate,
this full bottle has very supporting acid in the background, the fruit again for me is too sweet on the palate, some petrol though, apricot and mango, rich but with a whiff of sweetness which for me leads to a a slightly diffuse showing, do not know if this will change again, young I was very convinced of this Dönnhoff Hermannshöhle 2012 GG, the lively acid indicates some life ahead, hopefully this all comes together again, but tonight the for me way too sweet fruit covers all, for instance the mineralic saltiness and worse, the Riesling tension, lets wait and hope for positive improvement, drink this one well cooled! **(*-?), for tonight around 87,88
4/9/2020: update, I am afraid, but the last quarter of this bottle is more flabby than yesterday, I am really horrified now!

Do not know why I am pnp-ing this half bottle today, as a Riesling addict i surely do know that i am committing infanticide tonight, but this fragrance...., and ONLY 7% alcohol, normally I would only buy and enjoy M-S-R classic style off-dry Riesling bottles, as they are overall the best from Germany, but... and this is a great but, there a some competitors from other zones, for me mainly from the Nahe zone who fill awesome stuff in their bottles as well,
rich, ripe tropical fruit fragrance, yellow peach, mango, honeyed palate appearance, but light and delicate as an butterfly landing on the blossom of a rose, tropical fruit again buffered by a very salty and lively acidity, outstanding showing that young, in a way harmonic cause the weight of the sweet fruit is perfectly balanced by this tasty acid, very curious how this will mature, no doubt for two+ decades, Riesling classic style for sure is the BEST off-dry white from the whole world! **(**-*****), 96 for tonight,97+ potential

On the palate this bottle is quite rounded, would not say totally harmonic, still this punching energy from the slate and the salty acid, in this moment just no fruit, all slate driven, spicy finesse and slightly herbal flow in the background, a light Riesling but cause of its tension and lingering finish a great appearance for me, if you hold some of these try one, a Riesling revelation in the "entry level+" class, **(*-****), around 91,92
