2015 Trediberri Barolo Nebbiolo
On day 1 this isn’t showing as good as I see described in the other tasting notes. The nose is rather closed albeit pleasant and bright, yielding light floral, herbal and cherry scents. On the palate the fruit is obviously overshadowed by a way too pronounced acid edge and unripe tannins. Bordering the unbalanced.

1/28/20, 1:57 PM - During an Italian wine tasting event yesterday, I tasted this same wine which I agree with you looks nothing as I have described in my note. The wine displayed a good degree of complexity, good structure from ripe acidity and tannins and good balance on the palate. Somewhat on the ripe sode but good valie for money. The pronounced acidic aspect I observed in my note above is certainly repllaced by warmth and ripeness. This leads me to think tha I either had a bottle from a bad batch or that bottle was on its way to faultiness (which however was not yet obvious).

I don’t fully agree though with your assessment of the 2015 vintage. Although from April to August it was warmer than the 10 year average , September and October were cooler than the 10 year average. Moreover, the large amount of water retained from the winter have allowed thw vines not to suffer the heat of the summer for the most of it. Overall a mixed vintage with great variations between producers and vineyards. The wines don’t necessarily show the ripeness and fullness of a very warm vintage.
