A dark aromatic profile revealing a good degree of complexity, however somewhat too plump and paired with an intrusive layer of green. Prunes, leather, cocoa, licorice, violet, and pine. In fact, it barely feels like a Barolo. The palate tells a different story and displays great balance between the fruit, acid and mature tannin. A bit of a nose/mouth dichotomy from this bottle. Rebuy: maybe.

Decent nose, fresh and spicy with scents of confit cherry. A touch of masculinity conveyed by hints of leather and earth evolving gradually into pleasently pungent spiced clove undertones. Fresh on the mid palate too, with a balanced structure. The finish is rather weak and understated, almost thin. Overall a nice bottle, however definetely a weaker vintage than the average for this wine.
Rebuy: maybe.

A rather expressive and elegant nose introduces a somewhat diluted and thin palate. Disappointing, as it feels as though this bottle might have been rather promising had it's depth been a notch above. A miss.

Clean and mineral nose, this shows a sweet yellow fruit with a touch of floral. A refreshing and crisp acidity complements the ripe fruit on the mouth resulting in a well balanced palate. Good quality for the price. Re-buy: yes.

Sharp mint, hints of honey and sweet apple elegantly assembled together to form an impressively clean and intense nose. The same level of dept is proposed in the palate displaying very good precision and depth for its style.
An excellent dry Kabinett.

Grass and grass only. Undrinkable. Will give it the benefit of doubt althugh it doesn't seem this was a flawed bottled.

This is elegantly assembled. Juicy and layered with fruit, spices and toast impressions on the clean and fairly complex. Superb balance on the palate. I found this very good value for money.

As the initial reductive elements level out the wine offers a pure fruit and herb driven character with noticeable scents of white peach and mint, in a bright and airy style. The mouthfeel is mixed. On the one hand it offers an interesting interplay between sweetness and bitterness and on the other the fruit appears as overshadowed by the alcohol (even at 8%) with the (rather low) acidity not feeling precise enough, leaving a somewhat harsh feel towards the finish. This is one of those for which the term "interesting" is indeed appropriate. Too young, time will tell.

What a an outstanding Kabinett. This displays an elegant, intense and pungent nose, where scents of honeyed fruit and spicy herbs mingle in complete harmony with superior zesty and mineral elements. An almost imperceptible touch of smoke. On the palate, the awesome play between full-bodied mouthfeel and delicious acidity keeps the wine upright and ever evolving. Superb example of 2010 Kabinett.

This comes across rather inexpressive and uptight. Other than some faint white skin fruit hints and floral tones, there's not much to get from the nose. Bone dry, nearly across the balance border.

This start off with rather high tones piercing through the dark oak layer leaving a pleasnt sense of pungency and freshness. The fruit side is characterized by lovely raisin and dark cherry and is very well integrated. A pleasent (althouogh uncharacteristic) note of tobacco lingers in the background up to to a powerful spice uplift. Ripeness and concentration are balanced by an almost perfect acidity. The wine is very elegant on the whole while staying defined and focused.

Although missing some of the definition and focus you'd want to see this shows impressive aromatic intensity with honeyed lemon notes to the front. Super concentration in the mouth where the initially persceptible resididual sugar gets blown away in an instant by heavy weight acidity sending shivers trough the palate. This is zesty purity to a high degree. Super acidity, but a spatlese in disguise.

This is not an easy one to assess. It is intermittently impressive when the focus and juicy concentration emerge from noisy veils of botrytis and straw. Lots of ripe fruit such as sweet apricot and peach, followed by lavander, honey notes and orange peel could get this easily mistaken for (at least) a spatlese. The palate also offers plenty of concentration and a limy ripe acidic edge with good lenght. Good, althouh not fully true to kabinett type.

In the glass a bright green tinged hue. This immediately shows that undifined plump (over) ripe character reminiscent of tropical juice, nothing you'd expect from a Mosel Riesling. The palate is no different, and yields overly ripe and unfocused character. A complete lack of appropriate acidic level makes this drink thin and unpleasent.

A disappointment. When tasted short after bottling (two years ago) this had striken me for its balanced structure and light fruitiness, ideal for a rather reasonably priced entry level wine. It's suprising the way the alcohol has now come over to overtake fruit and acidity, even leaving a slight burning sensation in the finish. Plenty of unpleasent bitterish notes to cover the fruit.

This is now starting to show off. The nose is a blow of fresh air charged with the most refined and lightest of fruit and floral perfumes, although still rather restrained. Dried apricot, honey, apple paired to more earthy notes are most evident. The palate, oh the palate...Superbly concentrated lime, nearly lemon cream mouthfeel, this delivers best in class texture and structure. An explosion of flavours leads to the spicy finish. A great kabinett.

This comes over in truly Prüm style and delivers a sumptuosly understated nose yet compressed with refinement, lightness and intensity. A soffused, playful veil of slate minerality reveals a less shy set of sweet aromas defined by vivid precision and unreal cleanliness. This is Prüm. You could give me a glass to smell filled this beauty and hold it 1o miles away from my nose and I'll still be shouting "this is Prüm". Oh boy, the palate. This makes your mouth produce a smile in a robotized and fully automated way. This is silk I'm drinking, a vivid, kicking, throbbling kind of silk paired with addictive zesty acid and flavoursome fruit. And it's still a baby...Superb.

Running the risk of being repetitive, this has definetely reached its peak. For this money (CHF30) you won't get better value than this. What were before (up to one year ago) distinct aromatic sensations to make up a significant level of complexity have now "come togetether" into layers of aromatic elements mingled with each other to compose a whole harmonic balance. Strawberry and cherry confiture get dispersed into pan d'epice leaving the way to roasted cocoa into violet to follow with leather and so on. The spice lift is especially fresh and penetrating and act as conduit of elegance and depth. Likewise on the palate, where the wine is fresh and supple and retaines a distinct freshness. Maybe lack some weight but this is pretty in line with the style in question. Not a bomb or an outlier, but quite an effort. Rebiy: yes.

A granite red with some orange reflections. Ample, overpowering, refined nose. This is the epitome of complexity and a rather perfect combination of austerety, purity and elegance achieved with incredible ease and synergy. Animal, blood and leather mingle together with pure red fruit such and sharp spices producing an incredible lift of sensations. Similarly, on the palate austere, thin and fresh yet with outsanding texture and depth of fruit flavour, spice and nerve. Impressive.

Still rather young. This displays loads of finesse and perceptible fruit purity. Overall this comes over shy and with dark and tight elegance. The preserved berry fruit and violet perfumes are pure and clean, the oak is very well integrated and its secondary elements make this multi-dimensional but this has yet not fully come together. Rebuy: yes.

Minerals, honey and plenty of ripe citrus characterize the wine's very assertive and intense aromatic profile. There's impressive depth and ripeness here, probably at the limit for a true spàtlese. On the palate this offers ripe apricot and explosive citrus flavours with grapefruit on the front. A fair amount of residual sugar is taken over by a spectacularly vibrant acidic that brings ripe grapefruit to mind. You wouldn't want to take your palate off he glass. Rebuy: yes.

There's generous complexity here and an extremely attractive aromatic balance that is shone through by piercing spiceness. A medium dark violet colour in the glass. This offers a terrific tensed aromatic structure combining masculinity, power and finesse. A spice permeated nose displays undertones of candied cherry and plum together with more rusting and darker impressions of wet earth and roasting. The sweet cinammon spice is in command here providing tremendous lift through out the aromatic spectrum. The palate is likewise tensed and sappy. It offers great balance and freshness. Tannins are ripe and tender although remaining a tad bitter in the finish. Very good bottle. Rebuy: Yes.

This shows a tense green-tinged and bright golden colour. It shines truly neat and clean in the glass. From the first smell you know this is going to be an atypical Kabinett. In fact this shows the essence of 2010 and comes over with impressive aromatic depth of honey-imbued fruit such as green apple and peach wrapped in a thick waxy, smoky mantel. The palate is as deep ,almost viscous delivering a joyful play between concentration and freshness. The superb razor-sharp lime-driven acidity stings and burns the palate shining throughout and proving to be the founding element of this wine. This is quite a remarkable Kabinett requiring "2010 drinking mode". Rebuy: Yes.

This is still a in its very youth and although the wine has entered its "muted" phase it still manages to display remarkable purity of fruit hovering on crystal clear minerality. Stone fruit, crushed stones and exotic spices are most evident at this stage. On the palate the wine comes across with refined depth and bright spiciness. The lipsmacking acidity reveals perfect ripeness. This will acquire extra complexity and focus as all elements will come together with time and the wine will give up its initial youthful fat. 2015-2027. Rebuy: Yes.

I must admit my jugdment might be somewhat biased here as being a devotee to this wine that first opened my mind to the world of Burgundy but I have little doubt this has reached or close to reaching its peak. I was never too impressed with the 2006 from this cuveè but am now changing my mind. This now shows thrilling breadth and multiple layers of impressions building on each other in a thrilling synergetic balance. The wine offers quite a panoply of sensations, comes over earthy, with plenty of brandy-soaked cherry a roasting accent on a transporting current of sweet complex spices. The palate is supple and has achieved great balance while still retaining a tremendous refreshing lift. The mature tannins are ideally integrated. Spices all over and the sensation is one of natural continuation of the aromatic experience. I did enjoy this. Rebuy: yes

Light gold. This displays immediate perfurmes of tropical fruit (lychee) together with delicate scents of rose petals. The wine then yields an undercurrent of soft spiciness to end with a captivating soffused smokiness. The palate is similarly characterized by juicy tropical flavours, spice and moderate sweetness with no allusion to cloying impressions. This is enjoyable and has a good QPR, however some additional depth and acidic kick would have been preferred. Rebuy: maybe.

This initial “aggressiveness” fades away after a few minutes revealing elegant and pure sour cherry harmoniulsy blended in a piercingly fresh balsamic current where the plenty sweet spice mixture become nearly physical. Wow, the palate bursts with juicy fruit, intense and sappy all the way. This achieves great balance through an impeccable acidic lift. The spiced finish is marked by appealing creaminess. Intense, brilliant gold in the glass. This has plenty of aromatic weight and ripeness offering. Green apple, candied citrus and a touch of tropical are encased into sappy and spice-laden honey scents. There's serious loads of fine spices here and the nose comes out as viscous. Serious depth here. The palate retains fleshy texture and ripe fruit kept in tight tension by a terrific acidic structure. Strikingly long finish on a bed of captivating spices. I am again impressed by the way this achieves this weight, structure and presence with such agility with a very reasonable alcohol level (12%) while managing at the same time to come across bone dry. Seriously appealing in its simplicity plus there is quite some depth here. Honey, acacia, apple, slight tropical are most evident. There is aromatic weight to be uncovered here. Same goes for the palate, this seems sweet at first based on roundness and a good correspondence to the nose. The finish lingers for quite a long time, rather impressive. Rather tight and taut on the nose, not so much in terms of power and generosity but with respect to aromatic impressions. An interesting multidimensional low profile character at the moment. I believe this is now in "closed down" mode and it will be for a few years to come (3-5yr?), waiting to open up and show it's complexity. This is quite interesting though and still deserves the "rank" of Alsatian Grand Cru. It is rather pale and shows greenish bright shadows. There's plenty of depth on the nose with and a sort of tense intensity but not the slightest show off of power. Candied citrus, wax, and honey are what come to my mind. This is rather light bodied and I'm probably still going to stick to the impression I had on the note below, that is this would probably need a touch extra weight on the palate to match its aromatic depth, nevertheless it still well manages to achieve great balance keeping lively and vivid throughout. Can't avoid revising the score up a bit. Rebuy: yes.

A rather limpid ruby of medium intensity in the glass. This starts off very masculine and although I'm used to the oak regime implemented by Bouchard since a few years I'm still surprised to the rather pronounced dark toasted high tones coming off initially. This is followed by remarkable breath and freshness on quite an array of fruit, roasting and spice impressions with an intriguing gentle floral dimension. The palate shows real substance and intensity coming off fleshy, very fresh and supported by a resolute tannic structure. Some extra complexity would be desired here but the character this shows just makes up for that. Reby: yes.
