Outstanding. Dark, opaque, dense body, complex flavors, including raspberries and cherries, intense tannins that begin to soften a few hours after opening, high acidity. It’s powerful but not overpowering. Can take many more years of aging, but no need to wait.

This is an ice wine made from Gewurtraminer grapes. Harvested when the grapes are frozen. Honey colored, syrupy body, complex flavors of raisins, honey, pineapple. An excellent dessert wine. Best served cold in small amounts. How does it compare to a Sauternes? Not as complex, but excellent in its own right.

My second tasting note of this wine. It remains outstanding. Probably better than my rating. One on the most enjoyable PNs I have tasted and our guests agree. I think it has reached its peak.

There is an extensive 93 point tasting note already posted, with which I agree. I rate this bottle at a conservative 94 points. This is an outstanding rich Cabernet. I enjoyed its development after opening the bottle. In about 12 hours it became port-like, with the tannins becoming much softer and the fruit becoming sweeter.

I join in the accolades for this wine. Certainly right up there with the best Pinot Noirs I have tasted. Our dinner guests commented on how they now understood the passion for Pinot Noir wines.

Deep red, full bodied, rich flavors of cherries with chocolate tones, smooth tannins. Very drinkable. A favorite vintage after vintage with our guests, who now ask for it. It’s a blend of red wine varietals. Perhaps Zinfandel and Petite Syrah?

Rather than repeat the previously posted tasting notes, I will say that this is a terrific Cab. It has aged wonderfully, no deterioration, discoloration, or sedimentation. Regrettably this is my last bottle of this outstanding wine.

Why is this tasting note coming so long after release of the wine? A case of this wine showed up at local Albertsons and they decided to blow it out. We are fans of Conundrum White going back to its first release by Caymus decades ago. So I bought one bottle to taste it and figure out why so cheap. That first bottle was surprisingly excellent so we bought the rest of the bottles and shared the case with friends. Conundrum Whites are very consistent from vintage to vintage. Very reliable. But some are a little better. This 2016 is among the best vintages. Sweet and tart, layered complex flavors and scents. We have yet to find a guest who did not enjoy Conundrum White.

This is excellent Cab. Perhaps as the result of maturing in my cellar for many years. It is dark red, full bodied, with powerful rich fruit accompanied by strong but balanced tannins and acidity. It needed about 20 minutes to breathe and settle down and then wow! Worth researching whether the winery is still making this wine. Hope so.

This is a rich fruity Petite Syrah. Full bodied, dark purple, sweetness well balanced by mellow tannins and acidity. Drank it with BBQ and potato salad and it was a delicious complement. I have a collection of Pruett reds, all excellent.

This vintage is a noticeable improvement from 2018. Doesn’t have complexity of previous excellent vintages, but very good and enjoyable. Among our guests Conundrum White is always well liked.

Previous notes posted on this wine have done a good job of describing its characteristics. I add that the wine needs a few hours to breathe after opening which allow the tannins to mellow. This is a wine that is not made to quaff, but to sip with dinner.

Surprised that there are no reviews posted. This wine is inexpensive and readily available. And quite good. Dark ruby color, full bodied, A blend of Merlot, Cabernet, Syrah, Malbec, Zinfandel. Very fruit forward but with good tannins and acidity. A good wine for quaffing at a summer BBQ. No negatives.

I want to post a tasting note right after opening the bottle and pouring a few ounces, because I was immediately impressed with outstanding characteristics of this wine. Dark, opaque, dense body, rich fruit, plenty of smooth tannins. A real treat to drink. I will edit this note with more specifics.

An excellent Chardonnay. Pale yellow, light to medium body with buttery feel, rich peach and apple flavors, nice acidity. The alcohol content is 14.5%, plenty for sure, but does not over power. I will be serving this wine to guests this evening and will edit this review with their tastings. I will be buying additional bottles for my cellar.

This wine is even better than the last time I opened a bottle in 2018. It is exceptional. Delicious fruit. Smooth tannins. Ideal acidity. I agree with previous high score ratings. No deterioration from aging. Great stuff. Lucky for me I have two bottles left in the cellar.

Dark ruby, full bodied, rich fruit, so why isn’t my rating higher? The wine is too smooth, too soft, and lacks complexity. It would be good for an outdoor BBQ party—inexpensive, easy to drink, plenty of alcohol.

Three years after my previous tasting of this wine. It has aged well and remains outstanding. The same characteristics as I previously identified. My guests said “wow”. My thoughts also.

This is my second bottle of this wine and it is much better. The excessive mineral flavors are not present and there was no need to wait several hours after opening. I am thinking my first bottle was off. I am liking this bottle very much.

The tasting notes that are already posted give a good description of this wine’s characteristics. My bottle apparently has improved with more aging. I let it breathe a bit. It is now clearly outstanding. It has more life left in it. And in another year likely it will get into the upper 90s. Fortunately I have another bottle. But allow me to day it is terrific now.

I liked it after it was decanted and breathed for several hours. Right out of the bottle there was a strong mineral flavor. Several hours after opening the minerality was gone and wine was very good. Pale gold color, light bodied. apricot and honey flavors balanced by good acidity. Best served cold.

Dark ruby, medium bodied, medium concentration berry flavors, mild tannins, nice acidity. More like a Pinot Noir than a typical Syrah, lighter in body and flavor. Very nice.

Deep red, full bodied, rich but not overpowering fruit, soft tannins, very pleasant to drink. An excellent wine ready to drink now right out of the bottle, no decant needed. Of the several vintages of Conundrum Red that I have tasted this is the best.

To supplement the many tasting notes already posted, I too think this wine is outstanding. It is now in December of 2020 well aged but still has years left in it. My bottle improved noticeably four hours after opening and letting it breathe.

This wine is outstanding. My 96 rating is conservative. The wine is opaque dark ruby color, full bodied, silky smooth, wonderful balance of tannins and oak and alcohol, rich plum and blackberry flavors, long finish. I did not decant for my first taste. It was ready to drink immediately after the cork was pulled. I will let it breathe for an hour and give it a chance to improve. How can it? Will let you know.

Matured beautifully, dark ruby, full bodied, raspberry, blueberry and spice, excellent balance of tannins and acidity, smooth but with a hint of pepper at the finish—a pleasure to drink. My last bottle of this vintage but there are several bottles of subsequent vintages in my cellar now demanding to be tasted and compared.

Opaque ruby color, dense full bodied, rich jammy blackberry and blueberry flavors, plenty of alcohol but no discernible tannins. The initial taste is very powerful and fruity. Almost a port. It is best right after opening. This wine would get a higher score from me if it had a spice finish. But it’s fun to quaff.

Regrettably the Bialla winery was sold to Chinese investors a few years ago and the wines now go to China under a different name. Not sold in US. My bottle may be the last one around. It is regrettable because this is an excellent to outstanding Bordeaux blend wine. Very rich and fruity, strong flavors and tannins but not overwhelming. Dark ruby color, full bodied.

Dark ruby color, full bodied, smooth tannins, rich fruit, alcohol is just right to complement the fruit and contribute to a long finish. As good a domestic red blend as any I have tasted. No decant needed. Excellent. Second day after opening. No deterioration noted. Still excellent!
