Nice acidity that worked well with the tomato sauce and and lamb meatballs; nice fruit and enough structure to stand up to the Kobe beef burger, but not to heavy to dominate the roast chicken. Drinking well now; Very dark color, but light tannins and high acid. Made to have with food.

Very balanced, Burgundian style chardonnay...served slightly chilled...tasted great on it's own...even better when paired with scallops and lobster risotto

Classic Clos Pepe Pinot and very reflective of 2006 Santa Rita vintage...very Burgundian...cherry fruit mostly gone....mushroom, and dark fruits....paired very well with quail and squab....even stood up against a filet

Interesting GSM (actually SGM) blend; opened Tuesday night for dinner with friends and found the first taste a little harsh, with tannins and acidity; I immediately decanted, but it needed an aerator to open up; 2 hours later in the night the decanted wine was opening up and matching well with the herb and garlic roasted pork tenderloin; strong acidity and dark fruit; not very complex, but a nice table wine and match with roast meats; I think the Syrah dominates a bit; the next day it was slightly oxidized but had softened and tasted really supple and nice as a nightcap

We tasted at the Clos Pepe release party event during Wine and Fire weekend; this is everything a dry rose should be; my wife loved it and was very sad that they weren't selling any; generally I find Pinot Noir roses to lack in complexity, but this had complexity and structure. Drink now or in next year. I will be trying to find a bottle.

Had with the Duck at Chez Panisse for my birthday with Alan, Yvette, and my parents....pure heaven as a combination. One of the finest Pinots I've tasted and drinking beautifully. Can't remember the details enough to give exact flavors and aromas, but it was wonderful.

Paired with a roast whole chicken with root vegetables....would not normally think of a red with such a light preparation of chicken, but read about Cab Franc pairing with Roast Chicken and this came through beautifully. Very elegant style....purple fruits with very light tannins. I would drink now or in next 12 months....at peak

Really tasty Meritage blend; definitely around it's peak; decanted and tasted with bone-in rib eye steaks with chimichurri and roasted potatoes; great combination; incredible balance; comparable to 2003 Justin Isocoles I had last week

Had with Andy and Chinello at Heirloom; decanted; really balanced; at peak; not as leathery as 99 mondavi reserve we also had, but more flexible to go with gnochi and sausage dish and with steak; waiter said best Artemis he's had

Brought it to dinner at Albona in San Francisco; decanted; with Italian entrees including veal shank, roast pork, and braised rabbit; great match with food...very smooth...most of fruit receded...I would drink now or relatively soon

All that you look for in a classic Margaux. Incredible depth and structure, but with the elegance of a Margaux. Overshadowed the 1994 Dalla Valle we had with it. Could age longer but is drinking nice now.

Powerful, complex interesting wine. It was a great match with the grilled filet with shallot, gorgonzola, and red wine reduction sauce I served. I will admit, however, that it was clearly bested by the 1986 Chateau Margaux we opened afterwards. I actually think it could use a few more years despite the fact that Wine Spectator said to drink now.
