Tropical fruits, very savory with great minerality and a little salinity. I find this wine to be very full bodied, intense with a lot of grip!

Compared to my previous bottles in the last year, this one has a more muted nose. But as before, this one has nice cherry fruit that seems to be fading just a bit, plus red currents, spices, earthiness and a savory finish. Quite enjoyable, and probably has a few years to go with its drinking window.

The wine has a garnet color and a somewhat expressive nose of blue violets. I like the dark red fruits, minerality and balanced acidity. It is savory with some spices and delicate on the palate, but very dry or perhaps some drying tannins remain that are more predominate than the red fruit. Nevertheless, a nice wine at its apogee.

This is an enjoyable Zinfandel with lots of black cherries and plums with firm acidity. It should have a couple more years to go on its primary drinking window.

At almost 9 years of age, this is a great California Chardonnay. The nose has nice orchard fruits and the color is a light gold. It has lots of orchard fruits on the palate, great minerality and zippy acidity. This is not a so-called buttery CA Chardonnay and I like that about it. It seems like it has a lot of life left in it.

This is my first bottle of Eyrie Pinot Noir and I was very interested in trying it. I was very pleasantly surprised by how delicious, silky and elegant it is.

What an expressive nose of pinot fruit. I like the crimson color of the wine too. It has lots of dark red fruits, including strawberries, black cherries, and a little cranberry. It is earthy, spicy and savory with silky tannins along with good acidity.

Lots of blackberry and dark cherry fruit. The wine is very generous and more typical of Chinon in this vintage and not as rich as 2017, 2018 and 2019 (but that is not a complaint, just an observation). It is also very savory, earthy, with silky tannins (no new oak is used), smooth and delicious. I like these wines also for the lower alcohol levels: this one is at 12%. I am sure it will age nicely for the next ten years or so.

I decanted this wine a couple of hours ago, which I recommend both for aeration and leaving behind the sediment in the bottle.

The nose on this wine is giving me hints of dark red fruits, including plums. As you would expect, the color is a bright red with an orange rim.

I am really enjoying the dark red fruits, including plum and blackberrry. The wine is very savory with some garrique, chocolate, and spices. The tannins seem to be fully integrated, but still firm. Great concentration, good structure, nice acidity and minerality too. It is at the beginning of its drinking window.

I think this is a great Beaujolais, and a bargain at that. Really nice dark red fruits, including blueberries and cherries. It is medium to full bodied and very ample, with a full mouthfeel and lively acidity.

The wine has an orange rim, but nice dark red color overall. Lots of blueberries, licorice, blackberries, cassis, black olives and herbs de Provence.

I decanted the bottle an hour or so ago.

As I experienced with my previous bottles of this vintage, the tannins have softened and it is ready to enjoy, but they are still noticeable. It shows Bandol typicity as it will probably always show a rustic side.

Day two: I saved half of this bottle into a 1/2 bottle, stuck the cork in it and put it back in the cellar overnight. So this evening, this is not such a great wine. I am not sure what to think about this. Now there is a lack of fruit plus drying tannins on the palate.

My last bottle of this vintage. It is quite enjoyable, with dark cherries, and dark chocolate. It is very complex, with tertiary notes of dried fruits. But I would recommend enjoy your bottles of this vintage sooner than later.

Lots of citrus fruits, stone fruit as well, plus good acidity. It is holding up well, but I plan to enjoy the rest of my bottles of this vintage during this year.

So this bottle is very good compared to the one I had in December, thankfully!

This wine has an inviting nose of blue violets, and the color is a beautiful red. It has nice dark red fruits, including cherries and raspberries, plus nice minerality. It is rich, savory and medium bodied, with silky tannins and a medium finish.

I decanted this young wine about one hour ago and it was still at cellar temperature. It has a lovely dark red to purple color with some muted aromatics including blue violets and red currants.

It is full bodied with nice dark red fruits, fine tannins, a touch of oak, and it is very savory, rich and concentrated. The finish is long and you can tell the structure is there for some years in the cellar. While you can drink it now, it will certainly become more complex and more enjoyable after the tannins soften.

However, I will say that I was surprised by the 14.5% alcohol level, especially for a wine from burgundy.

I don’t find this wine to be very interesting at all. I bought it recently at TotalWine and popped it open a short while ago. It is not very expressive and the fruit is very muted. It seems to have a metallic taste to it.

For $20, this is a good wine that is easy to drink. It has good citrus fruit, including grapefruit, and lychee nut, plus good minerality and a slightly honeyed texture. I agree that perhaps it could use a little more acidity, but overall, it seems balanced and has a nice medium finish.

This is a very delicious Gigondas! Lots of dark, ripe, red fruits, garrique, minerality, and very savory. The wine is very well in balance and is not rustic like I find many wines from this appellation. A good QPR.

Notes of cherry and blackberry fruit, some mocha, good minerality and fine tannins. I only opened this bottle about 1/2 hours ago so I am not sure how it will evolve. It is easy to enjoy now, but certainly will be better after a few more years in the bottle.

Well this wine is certainly in its drinking window with many years to go. It has a beautiful red color with an amber rim. Lots of scents of garrique and blue fruits on the nose. It is rich and intense with dark red fruits, dark chocolate, garrique, velvety tannins, and minerality. It is full and round on the palate.

This wine has a nice fragrant nose and a beautiful light to medium red color. While the tannins are noticeable, they are refined and I am sure will continue to mellow over time. The wine has very nice dark red fruits, mint, lead pencil, licorice and some savory characteristics that are very charming. It has a smooth texture and a nice complexity. I really like this wine and it seems that it will only get better.

This wine has an inviting nose of red berry fruit. It is very flavorful with lots of red berries, including cherries and raspberries, plus some vanilla and cola notes. It is also very savory and it seems to still be in a primary phase with it being fruit forward. While it is enjoyable now, I think it will be even better after a number of additional years in the cellar.

The nose was somewhat muted when I first opened it a couple of hours ago, but now it is a little more expressive. I think it is always beneficial to give these wines at least an hour after opening before enjoying them. Decanting is actually best.

The wine has an orange rim, but nice dark red color overall. Lots of blueberries, licorice, blackberries, cassis, olives and herbs de Provence.

While the tannins have softened and it is ready to enjoy, you definitely get the rusticity of this being a Bandol. But it lingers on the finish making it a great winter drink!

This is another very nice bottle from 2012 and it is offering the same experience as the ones that I had enjoyed last year. It is quite delicious and savory with a nice light red color (no browning as one taster noted) with a lightly perfumed nose. It has soft red fruits, including raspberries and cherries, sour cherries, green tea, Asian spices, plus good minerality and acidity. This wine has been cellared since release at 55 degrees.

This is the 2nd half of a bottle that we opened and enjoyed on Christmas. It was stoppered in a half bottle in the cellar overnight.

It has a deep red color with the slight orange color at the rim. It has lots of dark red fruits, including ripe plums and black cherries, and nice minerality. It also has herbs de Provence, a little licorice, led pencil, well balanced tannins and acidity.

It is very pleasant to drink this evening and it is quite complex with a tertiary earthiness that I like.

Again, I think this a lovely bottle of white burgundy.

It has a subtle nose of orchard fruits. On the palate, it is round, full bodied and very complex. I am enjoying its tropical fruit, honeysuckle, butterscotch, lime zest, crushed rock and lemon curd. The acidity gives an uplift to the finish. It seems that this has some years to go. Bravo Encore!
