Very nice wine. Dark garnet color. Nose of spice and soy sauce. Mildly tanic. Some dark fruit and spice on the palate. Can last another 10 years. A good wine with Stilton and/or rib eye. 1st of 4.

Opened a 2004 Schild Estate shiraz-deep dark purple in color. Nose fruit cocktail like. Berry, cherry and plum tasting. Long fruit finish not hot but still slight sweet tannin burn. Very good. Can last another few years and no need to decant.

Surprised at dark plum color. Nice balance, smooth but not dull in taste. Still had tanic bite especially on the finish. Not sure what I was tasting. Combination of sour cherries and dark chocolate? Very nice but fruit taste has taken a back seat. Drink now.

Nice dark plum color. A little bricking. Nose was muted tart cherries, but opened up in an hour. Fruit was struggling to come out on the taste. Drank out of bottle. Needed to be decanted. Next time I will let it decant for a couple hours. I have had much better vintages and the differences are remarkable. 1995 and1997 were much better.

Garnet color. A little bricking but color very good. A little musty smell but not overwhelming. Slight tanins but some fruit showing thru plum, some cherries. Finish is a little bitter.

Fruit nose. Black fruit and tart cherry taste and finish was some what sharp. I think this could last a few more years. Very good with cheese and salami.

Had with filet. Big, bold but no over the top fruit showing. Fully integrated and complex. We enjoyed it very much. Last one.

Very nice wine drinking at the perfect time. Nose was a little musty at first then blew off to expose a very balanced slight black fruit aroma. Taste still had some tannin to my surprise but overall good amount of fruit showing. Sorry my last bottle of this vintage.

Surprised at the vibrant color at this stage. No real fruit smell but a hint of pencil lead. Smooth but no real taste of fruit at all. Not flawed but very tired tasting. My fault for not opening years ago. I guess I need to go thru all the 2000 Bordeauxs and check the drinking windows. Inexpensive mistake.
