Was hoping for more out of this.

10/5/23, 9:53 AM - I should edit my note to say that it was pop and pour and showing well but just a little simple for the tariff. Fruit forward but lacking that edge that I've experienced in the past with other vintages.

I have a 2017 that I will open and report back.

Red
2018 Castell'in Villa Chianti Classico Chianti Classico DOCG Sangiovese
aromas of red fruit, dried flowers, mint, a little leather and bee pollen

tart and medium-bodied, classic stuff, very fresh and more acid-driven than tannin-driven

2/19/23, 3:09 PM - That pollen note gets me.

Russk. Enjoyed at the WW Tuscan Tasting. Bought a bottle. Salty. 90+pts $20.

Took about an hour for what seemed like tca to blow off then came stewed cherries and roses. $16 at Costco, my new house red at that price.

9/28/17, 6:49 PM - Nope. Oddly my Costco had both the 2013 & 2014 barbaresco. Waterbury CT .

10/12/17, 6:17 PM - Nope. Tan labeled barbaresco. I doubt Costco would sell varietal labeled Italian wine.
