Deep purple and opaque. Licorice and spice dominate on the nose and the tannins have integrated well. There is a tiny bit of heat on the long finish so need to see if as it warms up from cellar temp how that goes.

This improved on day 2 for the 2nd half of the bottle. It still has plenty of life and could easily hang on a few more years. I do recommend drinking this a little "warmer" than cellar temp. Something in the 60's.... It opened up the more time it got with air and warmth. Very enjoyable.

From the first glass this was firing. Lots of red berry fruit but yet restrained at the same time with layers of forest floor. Beautiful nose. Nice finish. A great bottle. Paired with lamb and wild boar pasta. Excellent.

Big and bold with more of a waxy mouthfeel. Really enjoyable and while not my typical style as I prefer more acid this tastes great right now.

This is in a great spot. Cherry and spice on the nose. More restrained than not but still loaded with fruit and a lovely finish. Could drink these all night really good stuff.

This vineyard is typically on the bold side but RM did a great job with it. Drinking really well right now. Very good with grilled salmon.

Really delicious. For a young wine it is not overtly screaming in your face with fruit. Really well balanced. Fantastic with grilled steak and lovely finish. One of the better Cabernets in quite a while. Over delivered.

Really drinking well right now and surprised that I gave the same score a year or so ago... I didn't remember this bottle and just a really nice balance of fruit/acidity/soft tannins....ENJOY

Tasty but lacking acidity at this point. Past its prime or bad bottle variation but hard to reconcile with the past where the acid was noticed and appreciated.

Takes a little while to get going but not long (30-45 minutes). Definitely more purple fruit vs.earth/tobacco/leather. Really nice texture with extremely smooth tannins. Will save one to see what a few more years does to the flavor profile but no harm in drinking this now. Really nice bottle.

Pretty pale gold color in the glass. Nose is waxy green fruit and while it is a "good" wine, it isn't "great" and starts to go flabby after 30 minutes of being opened. Hmmmm

Opened and saved half that took 2 days to get to. A lot better on the second half. Tropical fruit notes, better finish and just more enjoyable. Will wait a few years to open the last one.

Very first pop and pour was good not great. Fifteen minutes later it is wow. Want to save half for tomorrow but no willpower. Maybe save a glass for tomorrow to see how it evolves. One of the best CA Chardonnay bottles in quite a while.

Really nice wine for the price with grilled filet and mushrooms. It definitely hits more on the fruit notes than tobacco and the nose is similarly geared towards the fruit side of things.

Light on its feet with lighter red fruit. Paired with a grilled salmon it is good. Not great. But pretty good. Still plenty of acid and a nice if not very long finish. Not clipped. Just not long.

Plenty of life left in this and much better than the last time I opened one. Purple and inky but opened up with about 30-45 minutes of air... Definitely more fruit forward to me but not overly so...really nice.

Light crimson in color in the glass. Nose is very expressive of tart cherry, spice and preps you for the first sip. Lots of acidity in the mid-back of the tongue and a very long and satisfying finish. At the same time, there is just something I can't quite put my finger on that prevents it from being better. Maybe too much acid to enjoy all of the fruit still? Perhaps day 2 for the 2nd half will yield an update...

this absolutely improved on day 2. The most noticeable difference was the acid balancing out and the fruit had more center stage and the finish was even better. I think for me this means a nice decant or just wait another few years before opening.

This starts with very crisp acid and then over an hour or so the acid fades and this has a more oily texture. Really like this one. Long finish. Need to try and hold off to give more age just to see what time will do. Drinks great now though.

Tons of purple fruit and a lot of fruit on the nose. In the mouth it is vibrant and the fruit remains front and center but not in a bad way. Minimal tannins. Really drinking great right now if you want a fruit forward cab. No deep dark notes no tobacco. I like those but I really like this too!! Nicely done.

Consumed over 3 days and each subsequent day the wine got better. Stored overnight in a normal fridge with vacuvin...

Nose started to open more and more on day 3 but still plenty of backbone in this wine. Wait another 3 years before consuming last one or maybe 2 to do a 10-year check-in....

If opening now decant for a good 4 hours.

One of my favorites in quite a while. Inky purple but yet light on its feet. Plenty of tannins left for more years to come. Black fruits dominate on the nose. So smooth on the palate and love the finish. One more left and will be hard to let it sit since this was so good.

Nose was super inviting in a rustic forest floor and mushroom way. The weight of the wine was light and yet still some bite on the finish. Really enjoyed where this bottle is at right now.

While I enjoyed this day 1 I enjoyed it so much more day 2 with the third of a bottle left over. The nose and the finish are great and glad I have more to wait a few years. This is more opaque than anticipated and definitely a strong wine and one to look forward to in the future. So young no need to rush.

Nose is fantastic upon opening. Needs an hour though to get going in the mouth. Or, let it get to 60ish degrees. Cellar temp is too cool for anything beyond the nose. This has plenty of longevity left.

Thoroughly enjoyed this half bottle. It is very young so let it breathe a bit and drank it warmer than usual. A bit cloudy to the eye but aromatics were great and great finish at such a young age. Was impressed.

Very nervous after pulling cork and having seepage about 75% of the cork...initial worry with a sniff inside the bottle and then poured a glass. The glass is fantastic. Hoping that I don't have to update in another 30-60 minutes that it changed rapidly. Have a handful of these and hoping it is a one-off. The cork was flush so not protruding like the other review. I look forward to these bottles from Rhys and this one hits it all right now, beautiful light gold in color, intoxicating nose, great acidity, just great stuff.
